Sorry for the newbie question... recently bought a E90 XI for the wife... it is time to replace the shock/strut so I figure go all out. She is not going fast and furious but at times is a spirited commuter.
Normally I would go decent sub $1000 coilover primarily for adjustment... for this car 70% looks and 30% performance being it spend most of its life in commute. Since I cannot seem to find any decent sub $1000 coilover for XI and even spring/strut combo will be close to $1000, I need your expertise. 1. is there any decent sub $1000 coilover that I overlooked? 2. as for Eibach "I" springs for "XI", does it matter if E91, E92, E93? Will they all fit on E90? 3. is there a difference with I and XI swaybar? H&R said they do not make E90 XI swaybar but I have seen advertisement claiming I will fit XI correctly. 4. If the coilover and spring/strut combo is the same price, what are pro/con for DD at same height? Does one dampener last longer due to design? Especially if both has lifetime warranty? Any help is much appreciated... thank you in advance |

Has anyone gone with the Eibach Pro Plus kit # 2092.880 on an XI? Or does it not fit?

Any other places to get the bump stops? Pelican parts website is the worst.

You can but it is not recommended because you are shortening their travel. General consensus is that your ride will suffer and you will wear out those stock shocks in a hurry.

Majority of this thread is E92 owners. Is this setup not as popular with E90? Any reason it won't work on E90?

Confused
Everywhere I look it seems like the eibach profit for xDrive is the same as for the RWD. Is this true?

A quick picture with stock wheels. I think sedan sits a little higher in the front, but I have the SP perches to bring it down an additional 1/2". The SP perches does bring you a 1/2" closer to the bump stops, so not the best choice. I'm looking at going with the modified Koni's.

Here is mine with Bilstein sport and Eibach pro kit.
Eibach Pro Kit "i" springs (PN: 2092.140) Bilstein Sport shocks (PN: Front Left: 35-142478, Front Right: 35-142485, Rears (same): 24-120425) Bump stops: Rear E86 Z4M (PN: 3353 6770 350), Front (no shorter bump stops required in the front with Bilsten because they have internal bump stops)

I'm thinking of going with the exact same setup, do you like the ride quality vs stock Xd? Was there any other little hardware needed or can everything else be recycled? The lowering is perfect for me, looks like standard sports suspension. Beautiful car.
