How many E92 members would be interested in a black roof vinyl?

EDIT** please email bat at....... bluebatmobile@san.rr.com
he's looking for a customer in San diego

As the title reads, this is an idea of mine which i brought over from my old forum when i had a G35coupe. I was planning on getting my roof black and my tails SLIGHTLY tinted. There's this talented young man out in San Diego, CA who formulates precut vinyls for vehicles giving them that aggressive stance with either tail lights, roof vinyls etc. With this guy you pay a fraction of the price as compared to Ebay and other sellers who sell similar products. Hundreds of members can vouch for Bluebat on G35driver.com and G35nyc.com

You can check out "BlueBat's" work here:
http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/BlueBatmobile2005/

Anyone in San Diego or near by willing to have their E92 used as a test car?

Blue does good work, I will say that. However my concern is that half of the battle is installing it..especially with such a large piece like roof vinyl where a bubble can easily be present if not applied properly.

I'm in the L.A. area and it's not uncommon for the local guys to drive to S.D. to have Blue put the vinyl on for them.

Too bad, my car is black. What about some racing stripes? Maybe something like this for a black car. Thats like a metallic silver or something. Anyways, is ir doable? What you guys think for us with a black roof already?

I would want it to cover my roof. I think this would be an excellent mod over painting the roof

would be nice, but CF overlay would def take the cake (most likely the wallet too). having a black roof would look nice but as u get close i'd wonder "why the hell is this guy's roof black?" CF at least there's some logic behind it. Its dark but also it carries with it the whole high-end sportscar effect since a lot of the high end cars are using more CF parts rather than just a vinyl overlay for show.

It's about as bad as plastering your car with ///M badges.

Will vinyl adhere to Carbon Fibre ? A nice pebble textured plastic would look nice instead of the CF on the M3 Roof.

vinyl will adhere to anything given it uses a decent adhesive on the back. I dont think anything will look better than the CF on the M3 roof, probably why it was chosen to be put on the M cars...lol and it is very much "pimp my rice" haha I def see any type of plain black vinyl as a quick solution to making your car look different. I saw an M3 with black vinyl on part of his hood and felt like puking. It's a damn BMW not a cheap POS that you can hook-up from parts bought at autozone. Whats next universal shift knobs from isle 5? lol

My bro has his vinyl overlays on his tail lights of his 350z, they look really good against his daytona blue car IMO.

BTW, I love how everyone bashes people looking to either paint or use vinyl to black out their roof as if they are copying the new M, when people have been doing that since 5 years ago on e46fanatics. I always thought that a black roof looks great on tiag depending on your other mods, but that's just me.

yea indeed it would but as you said also it would take the wallet too, for example a guy on here purchased a CF overlay for about 700 i believe, IMO thats a bit much but to each his own.

NICE. and yes its definitely a better/reversible option as opposed to having a black painted roof panel.

smh...in no way is this my attempt to have an ///M looking car. If i did then i wouldve just got a Z4 ///M. Its simply another mod just like guys putting quads on their 335s, may not be as significant to some but IMO it makes some cars look better. thanks for your input though, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I have been wanting to do this since i decided to stick with the black/red theme on my car, i got my window trim done in black with the guys from the forum in jersey.

Like stated before, even if bat makes precut vinyl, how we gonna install it. I sure cant.

And yes I can vouch for Bluebat, his work is very good
