If those gangs know that how to steal BMWs, then surely I expect them to know how to de-activate 'conventional BMW trackers'. As easy as you can get equipment to clone keys.

There is no point of investing in another BMW product which may be as useless as their security system.

Best bet is to go for Viper security alarm.
If not then go for non-conventional tracker. And if you get one, please make sure you install it in a place where they can't find it easily.

Feel sorry for you.

On the other hand, I wouldn't be too bothered if someone took mine. Was in the local dealer yesterday, and there was at least 2 motors I was seriously considering looking at.

could someone please update me on the BMW UK side of things.

Are they taking responsibility for the fact that their car security system have been compromised?

Or are they still denying that this technique of theft is taking place?

Accoding to my mini research, this is the best system I have found so far.

Pros:
-No contract
-No wiring
-No fees
-UK Company
-Full 12 month gaurantee
-FREE Technical support
-FREE Next Day delivery
-Massive 60 day battery life
-Real-time tracking
-Movement alarm can be set to alert you if your vehicle moves more than 200m
-Geo-fence alarm
-Built in antennas
-Any person with average knowledge can install it.

Cons
-Cost: £200 approx
-You may need to charge it every 30-60 days. I have sent them e-mail to find out if it can be fitted on permanent basis.
-You may have to put some balance in pre-paid sim to keep it active every 6 months (I guess).

If you wish to TRY it yourself, please ring on this number

07955 536822

and their demo unit will send you instant message with the location of this demo unit.

I have also looked at RAC trackers but they come with annual subscription fees which is not cheap either.

If somebody wants something cheaper than this, then there are few options and those item are manufactured in far east.

Mega that would be great. When you get yours, please put a photo here.

Anyway, I have just placed an order for 100 stickers.
They will take sometime to design and print those stickers.
I hope it works well. Once they arrive, I will provide update on it.

Sorry to hear mate! I was in the bullring 2 weeks back and there were quite a few subtly modded e90/e92s. I was hoping that my car would be safe and that these other drivers had implemented some sort of protection due to living in a crime hotspot!!

I hope something positive ends up from this!

Where did you get your port relocation done? Yourself or someone else?

Cheers man!

1sh, I have done it myself. Dead easy. If you read previous posts on this forum or search it, you will find DIY for it on a different forum.

Depeding on where you relocate it, it may take 15-90 minutes.

I am not sure what others are doing, but just a tip.

'Motion Sensor'

(P.S: I am not asking you to move your motion sensor or fiddle with it, however I am pointing toward using your motion sensor for the reason, it was made.)

From what BMW told me their Thatcham 1 systems meet 100% of the regulations set out for that type of alarm...so by that logic, all working as intended...

Just cut out the middle man and order it direct from China... here's the exact same unit he is selling for 195 pounds - for 95 pounds direct.

That companies margin is obscene.

I think I'd rather stop my car being stolen rather than track it's after the event. I don't think the insurance implications are any worse for a car that disappears completely over one that's stolen / recovered / repaired, but not sure I'd want it back after it's been ragged & abused by thieves

I've bought a few things from there over the last 3 years and I have never been let down.

I also note the guy selling those devices is a 3 Gold Medal Merchant which is another good thing to see.

Have a read of their site, DHGATE has been totally revamped in the last 12mths and has a number of buyer protection measures in place.

It will not be spotted now.

It is in a lock up. The only people who will see it will be the police when/if they find it.
