RB turbo question
When you guys ordered your set, did you also buy the upgraded gasket kit and thrust upgrade?
What exactly does the thrust upgrade entail? Is it a full 360 degree thrust bearing option? |

I had this question posted before... basically not worth it unless u want extra assurance and you are gonna use ur car for enduro racing/road course, etc.
Prob a handful of ppl opted for this option

Rob himself said it's pointless. He said he added the option for those who insisted on having it. I didn't do the upgrade and I'm pretty happy I didn't waste the money.

I ordered all the install parts including what was in the gasket kit. I ordered from getbmwparts.com. I figured while everything is apart might as well put in fresh supporting parts. I would definitely do the gasket kit parts if I did it all over again. For peace of mind it is pretty cheap insurance.

I really should continue setting aside parts for the Single conversion i'm planning this winter...but when I see RB and VTT threads like this....ah!!! I want power right now, not this winter. OK rant over.

I had the same debate myself, wait until winter and try a single, or order RB today...needless to say I have 0 patience, and the thought of having a single turbo setup in the dead of a Chicago winter would be have been pure torture. |
