Advice Pls On Changing To Non Rft’s For E93 Msport
i have been thinking lately about changing to non run flats for my car. i have the 239 alloys (19") with 225 35 19 (front) and 255 30 19 (rear). could someone pls let me know if it is advisable to hav non rft's on rear and rft's on fronts. the reason for this is that my rears will be replaced before the fronts so i wanted to check if this could cause any problems with handling or safety etc as i have the msport suspension.
i would also be very grateful if someone with a 335 msport conv who has changed to non rft can pls give me some feedback as to what make of tyres i should consider fitting and any comments on ride comfort, handling etc etc as i do find the ride a bit hard at times and not sure if that is down to the car having rft's or the stiffer suspension. finally (apologies for all the questions) if i do change to non rft's am i right in saying all i need is a compressor and some tyre sealant from bmw or is there some alternative out there that would do just as good a job. I would like to thank in advance all those members who hopefully will take the time out to help me in answering these questions. cheerio chaps |

Not advisable to combine non-RFTs and RFTs as they have different ride chracteristics and could prove dangerous.
As far as your choice of non-RFTs - Michelin PS2s, Continental Sport Contact 3 & Goodyear F1 Assymetrics seem to be very popular. Best bet for the boot of the car would be a jack, air compressor and some cans of tyreweld. You should see a massive improvement in ride comfort as the sidewalls of non-RFTs are much softer, but you will lose some of the "turn-in" of the RFTs for this reason.
