Hi,

I'm looking for a decent garage which can stands in my requirements:

1. Relaible- I want to know that once I want to fix something they won't "find" for me new non-existing problems.

2.professional in BMW cars.

3.tuning & modifications "ready"- a garage which beside regular maintenance (oil changing, filters and fixing problems) can also provide/install/be femillier with modified parts, car tuning etc'.

4. Good service only and prefer a garage which I can watch closely everything performed in my car.

5. Decent prices.

6. I live in central so prefer something close but don't mind to go somewhere far if it's really worth it.


At the moment I'm doing all maintenance at Tai Yip motors in Bonham road, he's ok with me to be honest but I want to get other ideas.

I know you asked a fairly long time ago, but I'm new here and just saw your message. There is an awesome British mechanic out in Pat Heung named is Andy Duarte. He worked on my E46 M3 until I totaled it in January Anyway, that's a story for another time.

Andy's number is 6279 3687 and his shop's name is OnBase. Tell him Ashwin sent you.

Dude, this is tough. Most of the garage is inexperience in hong kong and the market is very fragmented because most garage are are small private shop and ppl do not have formal traaining like most 4S stores BMW dealerships in mainland china. I knew a couple of stores that whose owners was working at bmwnhk consessionare but they charge expensively. Let me know if u r interested

Give Andy a call, he'll explain how to get there. I don't think having the address will help much. It's down a tiny village road. He knows BMW's inside out, charges really reasonable labor rates, and let's you order your own parts if it fancies you

Did you have a personalised registration mark on your LSB M3? I've seen you quite a few times around the Repluse Bay/Deep Water Bay area! Yours is one of the nicest I've seen in HK.

I recall seeing your car crashed on the news. Did everything work out in the end?

Yup that was my car. One of the saddest day's of my life. The previous owner had done a lot of dangerous modifications, and I snap oversteered into a guardrail and flipped it onto its side. Total loss with only 3rd Party Insurance

I can't explain exactly what happened on a public forum because I don't want to implicate anyone. Anyway, I was glad to be alive and unscathed. I'll post pictures on a separate thread in the near future. I really miss my car a lot, that thing was a beast. She sacrificed her life so I could live! Now I'm saving up for a E92 335i ...this time I'm getting full risk insurance!

Before your car had a PVRM, I've seen it going quite fast (overtaking etc.) on Wong Nai Chung Gap Road quite a few times too. Your car is quite distinctive because of its colour and the BBS RS-GTs (and red brembos right?).

Does Andy have a Silver Grey E46 M3? The reason I'm asking is because I've seen a British mechanic in my estate working on my neighbour's E92 M3.

Fast??! Nooo, that wasn't me. I drive like a tortoise. Funnily enough, my car has a doppelgänger for sale on 28car.com right now. Except that thing has a LSB interior

The brembos were actually pink and were one of the more serious dangerous modifications. They were designed for a 911, and the previous owner had retrofitted them onto the M3 by filling down the calipers all the way down to the bolts and installing sawed-off brackets. The calipers didn't line up with the discs properly so they squealed like all hell-mercy. There was also a very good chance that the calipers might snap off under emergency braking.

Two weeks before the accident, I'd spent about $40,000 replacing the entire brake system with the upgraded OEM CSL package. Again, I can't go into into the details, but my accident was partially related to something that happened there.

Andy drives an E30 325, so it must have been a different British mechanic at your estate.

Be glad your ok, the M3 same like all cars is just a mix of metal/plastic,be happy it ended with damadge only to the pocket my friend.

If you miss driving your welcome to take my car for a ride, its not an M3 but its ok.

No chance for implant your ex M3 engine in my car, it was already sold out to another garage....

That's too bad Edan! I wish I'd known earlier. Regardless I don't think the regular E46 chassis is built to handle all that power. You'd need to make a lot of other modifications to the suspension, diff, rear axel, etc. It would have been a fun project though!

I know its not exactly "plug & play" but thats the fun of it, building a car project Plus the fun of a uniq result of having one of a kind Sedan e46 M3...

It will cost more than selling my car and buying same year M3 but it will also have rear doors...

Well, at least potentially.
