AutoScope (Park Cities - Dallas) DIY Day
Some of the members here have expressed an interest in doing a DIY day at a supporting shop. I've talked to Steve at AutoScope and he has graciously offered the following:
Saturday Morning 1. Start at 9am sharp 2. Forum gets 10 bays ( 1 or 10 is the same to me ) 3. $100.00 to cover air/electricity/etc 4. The clubs have their own insurance policy for the day 5. I provide at least 1 BMW tech to answer questions , but is not allowed to touch the car 6. Any car left at 3pm becomes a Autoscope repair at normal cost to repair on Monday. ( we close down, including cleaning up after yourself at 3pm sharp ) 7. Dyno time for the same day would be a flat $600.00 as many cars as you want to run, within the same 6 hour time period. Normally 6-8 cars can be run in this timeframe. 8. Club has use of the training room for watching TV, Dyno’s , Lunch room, etc 9. We would like an RSVP in advance of names, cars, etc and any possible parts that may be needed to help with repairs / services. I'd have to talk to Steve about how the insurance would work, unless someone here has previous experience with something like that. How does this look to you guys? Something you'd want me to set up? I welcome any and all comments and/or questions. EDIT: Response from Steve about tools: …. Lifts Yes… Tools no.. Tools are the personal property of each technician , they don’t share well… Floor jack, yes Pole Jack yes Spring compressor yes Parts washer yes Things like that, but most need to bring their own tools, LMK if I can help more I have asked Steve about the use of impact wrenches/air tools and will post up the response as soon as I get it. Let's start a list of people that would be interested in taking advantage of this. 1. Wookie420 2. michael1284 3. Calestus 4. UltraRacer13 5. mbintx 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Please post up if you're interested and I will add you to the list. Also, please note that a date for this HAS NOT yet been set.

So it'd be 800 bucks total for 10 bays plus 6 or so dyno runs? And maybe insurance costs?
Edit : Maybe add to the title Park Cities Dallas, so DFW folks who don't know autoscope see it is local? |

The way I understand it is $700 with dyno time or simply $100 for the service bays only. Either way, we would have to purchase insurance coverage for the day and I have no idea what that would run.

Not sure what you mean by that... It would be $100 for the use of up to 10 bays for 6 hours. Works out to $10/bay for 6 hours if we had 10 people come out.

I might be in for this. Don't need to actually do any work, but for $10 for a lift I can bring some Motul and flush the brake system. That's cheaper than buying pads for my jack stands at home...

2 bottles (2QT total). i think i bought some tubing too which the DIY said was useful for transferring the fluid into the casing. i'll have to check when i get home. found my receipt for it though it was $30 after tax. you can have it for $20 for both.
