No Front Plate Ticket
Last week I was driving home and I passed a parking enforcement douchebag. I caught his eye so he busted a u-turn and followed me for two blocks. I knew he saw that I didn't have a front license plate but I figured he can only give me a ticket if my car is parked. He's no LAPD and can't stop me. Anyway, he stopped following me and I eventually made it home.
Well I just received the ticket in the mail today. WTF?!? It states "Because the traffic officer was unable to physically attach the citation to your vehicle at the time the citation was issued, this copy is being forwarded to you..." Unbelievable!! Has this happened to anyone else? Last edited by choicez; 12-09-2009 at 05:23 PM.. |

Here in TX DPS just's pulls u over and writes you the ticket on the spot I just pay them and wait for the next one lol. I don't get this dumb law you would think cops would be out looking for drunk drivers or speeders DPS stand for Department of Public Safety, who am I hurting by not having a front plate. jm2c

well, here's my question: it says Parking enforcement, yet you were'nt parked, so how could they cite you for that?? i mean i guess you could fight the citation on grounds of technicality, no?

eventhough it's a $25 citation, i'm going to fight it for this reason because the citation states it was a parking violation. it even states the address of where it was parked. douchebag liar! i'm just afraid that they will make me correct it if i take it to court and I will need to drill holes in my bumper for the plate. |

If I just pay the citation, I'm giving these douchebags the right to give another ticket to someone else while their driving. I really don't want to drive around LA knowing I can get a no plate ticket because a parking enforcement saw it missing while I passed them.

Zip tie the front two holes of the plate to one of ur kidney grilles, and get it written off.
I just used this for 2 tickets that i got and 2 different cops signed it off =)

Even after you go through the hassle of fighting it, and you do get it dismissed the patrol agency will more than likely not get a notice or what not. Therefore it wont help one bit, they will still do what they want.
And at the end of the day you're still violating California vehicle section 5200 (a) which requires that a front license plate is displayed. Quote:
