i hate dot matrix

is there any way you can get your windows tinted without it looking like #$%^

i had my car tinted a while ago and it looked bad so i asked them to fix it and they said they cant and no one else can do a better job. Well i asked for my money back and to remove it and they did. so now im thinking about tinting my car again but want to know if it is possible to tint the dot matrix area on the back of the car

yes.

either they sand down the matrix would not advice. or they vinyl it with gloss black on the outside. ive seen it done and it looks good from far.

mine is alright around the dot matrix i can live with it but might put a roof spoiler.

the tint came out perfect for me... the dot matrix wasn't a problem for my installers.

The guy who did my tint quit doing all BMW's all together after my car - said it wasn't worth it. I thought he was joking until my buddy called him months later and the guy said "Sorry, I'm no longer tinting BMW's." He did a good job but the dot matrix is 'eh' but I'm fine with it for now.

Agreed

my guy had a problem with the lines on the back as well being that they have some sort of coating on them

miserable really..it looks great until you look super super up close and are as picky as me

to the normal person, its flawless, to me, its ok

its on the outside. if it were on the inside it would probably experience the same non-adherance issues that tint does. you really dont notice it unless youre looking for it - the windows are black too.

Hire a quality shop and make sure they utilize top quality tint.

See this thread for an example of F1 pinnacle installed correctly on an e90.

Not perfect but a good illustration of a better then average install over the matrix.

It should not be that much if you get it done by the same guy who will be putting back the new tint. Taking the tint off is quite a simple process : razor or scraper used to work a corner and then you peel it off. Do not recommend DYI though. A few years ago, I paid $20 for two side windows on another coupe car after I got a ticket. Did not take off the back windshield (It's not against the law in CA). Then went back a week later and had the same guy do the two windows again at $35 each.

If you are talking about the upper part of back windshield, this is an easy and good looking remedy
