Has anyone put "Cheap" Coilovers on their car?

JOM Coils-550
Hot tuning/raceland-266+ship
CX racing-650
JSK coils-700.

anyone run them?

Yes i know... suspension is not the place to go cheap... yes i i know stick with brand names.... yes i know quality maybe not up to par with KWs. better alternative then just springs imo.

experience > opinion.

Hundred or so bucks more and you could get a Koni yellow/spring combo and have a better suspension set up. For around $850 you can get the ST v1 coilovers which are the same as the KW v1. I don't see why you couldnt save up an extra hundred in a few weeks to months.

You can buy used, i bought my sonic tuning coilovers for only 600

Never buy the Taiwanese coilovers. I had Function&Form coilovers from Taiwan on my Accord, and it was the worst ride, and I bottomed out everywhere. They don't have any R&D or Quality Assurance with those coilovers. They're just copied designs, and they look nice, but the fact of the matter is, they don't perform well.

Save up for Suspension Techniques (ST) or FK if you want something cheap but reputable. Made in Germany.

Even if they are "copied" designs, sonic tuning performed perfect. My ride quality is perfect and smooth. i have never bottomed out using them, and its been 6 months.

I'm glad you've had a good experience, but I've had horrible experiences with Taiwanese coilovers, and I know some others on this forum have had longevity issues with the Sonic Tuning. I think Suspension Techniques V1 would be worth the extra $200.

Same experience with my Sonic Tuning coils. It's been pretty good so far. Just wish that the height adjustment was easier for the rear axle...

Don't buy junk componants. Get a spring and shock combo if you don't want coilovers. You'll pay the same for install of any option, and you'll only need a couple hundred more bucks.

i just cant understand why when it comes to modding cars, some people insisit on cheaping out on vital parts like suspension and tires. save up the extra 200 - 300$ and get something reputable and which you wont regret later...

Yes i know the rear is not so easy to adjust, but then again it is the same way for other coilovers as well, even KWs

I spent a ****load of money on my car in just a matter of 2 weeks.
I need to drop my car but I live in cold weather with lots of potholes (xdrive).

What can I get that's not too expensive but still pretty effective?
Keep in mind, I wanna drop it a little (1.3 inch at most).

Not really. I bought springs for my car when it was new. Got a great deal, $275 cad shipped to my work for h&r race springs. Im running my factory shocks/struts for now till they blow, then I'll get some bilstien pss10's. But for now this works fine. Plus I saved over 2gs which sits in the bank earning intrest.

I was seriously considering JOM coilovers just to give them a shot because I found them for about 380 shipped. But I really don't want to risk having a shitty ride so imma save up for some ST coilovers.

Not quite OEM but pretty smooth a little bumpy at high speeds but thats probably due to the dampening being set at the max.

ahh make sense. I bet if you lower the dampening to soft it would probably ride better.

If your set your damping setting to lower setting 1-4 front and rear you will have a much better ride quality in terms of comfort.
