Folding mirrors - Coded
I have contacted my local Indy, enquiring whether they code mirrors to fold on an E92 pre lci.
He came back saying that its only possible with a comfort pack. My understanding is that its not needed and with a little coding, as long as you have electric folding mirrors, its all good? Thanks,

its coding in NFRM/FRM and CAS, as long as you have all the wiring sorted (much easier with memory seats etc otherwise you need to run a wire to the drivers door/passenger mirror and fuse box) then code with NCS.

If you already fitted the mirrors, try pressing and holding the lock button on the fob and see if they close. I did that and found out my new mirrors were folding when I forgot to do my window up and tried closing it with the fob. All of a sudden the mirrors folded in as well. Edit: All that worked without coding too. I changed a figure in the nettodat.trc or whatever to make them close as soon as i lock the car but that was afterwards. |

its got bot all to do with comfort access (keyless entry/start). you can retrofit them to any 3series, however the degree of what you have to do ranging from fit and coding (if you have memory seats) to fit, rewire new loom and code (for non memory seats) is about the top and bottom of it. It wil not lose the coding unless BMW update the CAS/N(FRM) modules. if it loses coding and wasnt updated it wasnt done right, simples. Ive fitted this myself to my own car without comfort access (but I have memory seats) and helped some respected coders (Alpina527) with doing it to someone elses car (possibly on here?) who did the wiring himself. |

does yours not work if you have the switch set to the drivers side? if not then you need to check how many wires you have coming from the mirrors, if its 5 then I think you will need new mirros as (I might not be 100% on this) the tilt function works off the lin bus which is typically 3 pin connectors (or you have to do some wiring etc) but try the mirror switch set to drivers then see if it tilts in reverse.

Ok I have memory seats and electric folding mirrors (not comfort pack). Anyone in the Surrey/Middlesex/North Hants who want to code my mirrors to fold via fob? Please let me know.
