LCI hood on pre-lci?

Will an 08+ LCI hood fit a pre-lci 07'? Looking at carbon fiber hoods online but all the ones i want are specified as 08+ (LCI)

E92 or E90?

An E92 LCI (2010+) hood won't fit on a Pre-LCI. An 08 is pre-lci, both E92 and E90.

E90, sorry. Some of the listings on ebay list them as 08 LCI and some are 09 LCI... Either way, will an LCI hood fit a pre-lci?

I'm not an E90 expert, but I believe all E90 hoods are interchangeable.

Wait for other responses though.

so you'd need the lci bumper to match?

Hood is interchangeable but you would need a new kidney grilles and bumper.

Ideally, yes, but I have seen guys run a pre-lci bumper with lci grills/hood. They had to custom rig a means of attachment for the grills (read: zipties), but it looked ok once everything was tucked away.

I have the LCI hood and front bumper, they're fine together. Just a little gap so I'll need to get the LCI fenders for it to fit properly.

Since there's a answer, not trying to hi-jack this thread but I need help finding a 2011 coupe vented hood for my car. Why can I not find them online? They're all ugly carbon fiber. Carbon fiber black hood with vermillion red doesn't look so good. Thanks

Also, for some reason, I can't start a thread, and I waited a while for verification.Sorry

I need it to be a perfect finish, like it'd actually be painting a non carbon fiber item. Plus I'm sure it'll be much more difficult and cost more money painting it. Right now I can get it for $500, but the OEM is 649. I want it to look good, and be professionally done.

Surely regardless of whether you get an oem hood or a CF one you will still have to get it painted?

It shouldn't be any different. Sand, prime, paint, clear. A good body shop will be able to achieve the same finish on a CF hood as they would on an OEM hood.

there is no need for lci fenders. if there is a gap you need to adjust hood hinges and such. lci and pre-lci fenders are exactly the same. trust me. if there is a big gap on both sides of hood its because you got a non capa certified aftermarket hood from somewhere.

It's not so much the hood, it's where the bumper meets the side fenders. My mechanic who owns a pretty good euro (mainly bmw) shop and he said that's what it is.

That gap is normal. The small 2 inch one where the bumper meets the fender correct?

I know it looks dumb but look at any E90 the gap is completely normal.

Im about to get my bumper replace under insurance claim. I wanted to know if I can fit a lci bumper with a pre-lci hood and how it would look/fit. I wanna eventually get a LCI hood but gotta save up first. Any advice appreciated.

Save up and get the LCI hood two. You can do it but it looks stupid as hell.
