I'm sorry mate, i know that I am a new member here, but i just had to respond to this, i own a S 65 AMG (W220), and even though i really love the new 3 series and think they are amazing cars fact is, ANY of the 65's would eat you for breakfast, 612hp & 1000nm (Sorry, that's for the euro's, that translates into what; 750 tq?) is unparraleled to anything they throw into the 3 series BMW.

If you really won that, this guy must have been retarded, because with a normal driver, there is NO way you would have beaten him, the 65 engine is a beast!

Don't get me wrong, the beemer is a awesome car, and i really like it, and i don't want to flame, but against a 65 there is no chance in hell

Lambos's, a GT40, 2 911 turbos and an SL55. I smoked them all...then outran light and ended up back in time an entire week. Anyone that buys another car is clearly a retart, teh 335 powns them all.

Beating an SL65!? Hahahahaa, unless you've got VIP's car, it's highly unlikely. Although, it's amazing the difference having a top down makes. I've seen quarter miles that varied an entire second or more just because the top was down.

sure bet, my SL 500 get a whole different milage per gallon when i have the top down, it creates so much drag, even though you can drive 80 miles an hour comfortable without having to worry about your hairdue...

Still, the 335i vs S/SL/CL 65 AMG (Both bone-stock) is a laughable race, i mean 306 hp vs 612 hp?

It has exactly twice as much horsepower!

An idiot in a toyta prius was with his friend and i was with my cuz in my car. the lane was merging so I cut him off. Later he pulls into the next lane over gives me a hard look and floors it...I was LMAO because the car hardly moved although you could hear the engine. I didnt even try it. He gets two CL's ahead and puts on his blinkers, I was like what the fuc*! I almost fell out of my car laughing. So then before he could get to the next light cut him off, again. Slow down, passed him, did this routine about 10 times and was just pointing and laughing at his sorry ass, he wouldnt even look at my direction! good times.

Not really a silly car but a Chevy Colbalt SS modified. Very quick but after 90mph they're dog slow. At 90 i'm just getting started.

I've owned/extensively driven over 50 cars in my life, racing in various circuits over 20 years and no other car makes can measure up to the brutal power of AMG's. Especially their Alpha dog the V12 TT's.

Believe what you will, but there are posts that make people question one's credibility with outrageous claims.

All I can say is wow! Common sense would dictate that in a straight line, the power difference alone in the AMG v a 335, that there would be no contest.

On a twisty road, there is more of a level playing field and its down to driver skill as well as car.

I guess there are fantasy egos all over the motoring world.

Street racing most of the time has to do with the driver skills, should have said any race, any time. Maybe the guy on the S65 didnt know how to drive at all, and he said the same guy was stuck in traffic in the slow lane, and he was on the fast lane, even my grandmother can win a race like that.

I dont think they even raced at all! he just passed him while the S65 was stuck in traffic.

Well, all you really have to do is hold the steering wheel, and push the throtle, not so much that you burn up the rear wheels, but also enough to be heading forward!

I've driven powerfull cars all my life, and none of them is so easy to drive VERY fast as the S 65 AMG

Nissan Sentra S. I think they have 160 crank hp and 160 crank tq. Guy really thought he beat me when I was not racing. It was on a busy downtown street, he came flying up behind me really close, waited for traffic to open up the right lane and then floored it around me with a big smirk on his face.

Had a late model pontiac grand prix try me on the highway from 75 up to 120 one time. Put 5+ cl on him, he pulls beside me after we took the off ramp, and are sitting at a light and gives me the one finger salute and tries to do a burn out. I almost pissed my self i was laughing so hard!!!

I've never had anyone try to race me, except the first night I owned the car a kid pulls up next to me in his late 90's Camaro. I'm in the right lane, he's in the left. He revvs his engine. His buddy is looking over at me. I give my engine a little rev. The light turns green and he's off! I then slowly accelerate, and make my anticipated right hand turn immediately. Meanwhile chuckling to my self as he looks like a fool driving like in ass. Street racing... gay.

My friends Volvo:

My friend has a volvo which he has modded a good bit...like 3' downpipe, full exhaust, chip, intake, bov, R badge haha, and a newer turbo of the same size. With all his mods he should have a power advantage and way more torque.

It cant even spin through first with a FWD car, it is automatic, but still, even in the rain, unless wheel is turned.

Well he thinks it is running a low 14 second 1/4 mile.
I walked him by about 5 cars from 40-70, so I highly doubt it.
Its black, with some cheap ASA black chrome lip.

He also was door to door with a Stock IS300 so thats gives what he runs.
Skill by my part on this picture, I was stock then. His is ugly/ghetto
His Volvo is so irridescent, kind of like a dragon fly...LOL

a few months ago i had an early 90's civic hatchback (really beat up, primered and annoyingly loud exhaust) wanting to drag. it was pretty late and the streets were empty. though im not the racing type, i said why not and went for it anyways.

starting from a 30mph or so roll, it was pretty much over before it began. after a few seconds i soon lost sight of him in the rear view.

after a few blocks later i hit a red light. he pulls up along side and asked me to roll down the window. my friend rolls down and we notice the the kid and his friend were quite young.

what he said next had to be the most comical line i have ever heard; "hey man my timing belts loose, if i had it fixed i would smoke that thing"

my friend looks at me and we both crack up in laughter. i respond "of course" and we went our seperate ways. the funniest part was, the kid was serious..

Nice stories... well let me first say thanks to you guys a lot of people out there now think that all bimmers are 335's! lol... I've head several confrontations and one that I really laughed at. Now remember I drive a slow poke 323 rated at 200hp.

Driving home late when I got caught a red light. I can see from a distance these blue HID's approaching fast, when I thought man another ricer. Before he could pull up I slowly took off in manual mode as the light had turned green. He didn't pass me I think he tried to tell what car I had as its debaged...lol. I get caught at the next light and to my surprise it was a scooby! Oh snap... not even going to try I thought. So he kept taunting me speeding up and slowing down... so when finally he shifted up, I did the reverse and shifted it down putting me in 3500 heat zone for my car and hit it. By the time he caught up (which wasn't long) I was already stoped at the next light...

he puts down his window and says... "wow your 335 is fast, thats why I didn't try to catch up..." I turned back and said... "its a 323, wish I had a 335 its almost twice as fast.."

End of convo... just laughing putting away!
