Got some foreign substance into the reservoir and need to drain it. Nothing drawn from it so no need for a total flush. Any instructions for removing/dumping the reservoir? Can't find and searched.

Here's where I think it's worth the $120 that the dealership charges. I know the coolant is not that expensive, however, they have a machine that can effectively exchange old for new.

imho the flush does not work as it doesn't get all of it out, and if you did flush without a machine, you'd have to waste new coolant. It won't add up to $120, but it is a large volume of a nasty toxic fluid....my .02

The bottom hose on the reservoir. Should have a clip that slides over the casing that connects to the hose coming. Carefully pry with a flat head the gently pull the hose/casing off.
Dealing with the heat and pressure of the system these may be brittle...

Not sure what you are asking is possible. The coolant hose that feeds the cooling system from the reservoir is at the bottom of the reservoir so you have to somehow drain the reservoir before you remove it. The only way to remove the reservoir is to drain the cooling system first. If you are concerned with whatever you contaminated the reservoir with will drain into the system, then you need to pull it from the reservoir first.

I worked for BMW for many years and we never even had a coolant exchange machine in the shop.....

I'd like to know if this is possible too? I replaced my waterpump/tstat a couple weeks ago, and recently discovered my expansion tank seals are weakened and leaking because of the overpressure event when my waterpump died. And since I'm possibly the laziest person alive, I'd like to know if there's a way to replace the tank without having to get under the car to drain it out.

If you don't want to remove the reservoir to drain it, then refill the radiator with water and then hold your hand over the radiator cap opening and then open the radiator drain and then the bottle will drain into the radiator. Or put the cap on if you don't want to use your hand.
