BC coilovers rear install HELP!!
I recently bought a set of BC coilovers from one of the members on the forum and the fronts came along perfectly, i figured id let the height adjustment as it came since it seem perfect for me. However when i put the rears in it left my car sitting way too low and even when i try to adjust the height on the spring with the adjusting perch it remains at the same height. I have gone thru it again and cant think of what i did wrong or whats missing and its driving me crazy and making the car essentially undeliverable.
The only part i did not installed was #3 as it wasn't specified to reuse and know some people don't use it without issues The seller has been more then helpful but at this point were both puzzled as to why the car sits so low and why adjusting the perch on the spring will not adjust the height of the car so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

did you adjust both the strut and spring perch? you probably have to raise both of them but everything does seem right and i doubt by adding the part #8 is going to make more than an inch worth of difference.
and by the looks of it you need a little more than an inch...thats really low lol.

Your 2nd pic looks odd. So only half of that spring compresses because the other half is already fully compressed?

no i just adjusted the spring perch because i wasn't sure if adjusting the strut would mess with anything related to the damper settings, plus the front ones went on at the same height as the previous owner had them and it sat perfect, however the back ones looked dumped but adding that piece helped probably over an inch for some reason and then i just adjusted the spring perch about another half an inch. Still with about room to go up another 1.5 to 2 inches.
i think most springs compress more in one side always because it has more resistance or because the spring rates aren't equal throughout the whole spring? but i could be wrong. But anyways here is what it looks like now |
