catless downpipes with PE exhaust- good combo?
I have an 08 335i that I added the PE exhaust too a year ago. Happy with the sound, no droning or raspyness. Thinking of adding catless downpipes to free up some power and make it a little easier on the turbos. Any input from anyone running a simmilar setup? (downpipes + PE exhaust?) Any droning or raspyness? I assume most of the exhaust sound gets chopped by the turbos anyway and I am keeping the secondary cats.
thanks Jay |

I have this combo, little raspy but still sounds good.
If I had a non xi car, I would probably try the resonated downpipes from AR to cut a little rasp out without too much sound loss.

I like that idea! Will keep that little bit of extra power but it will definitely cut out some of the rasp and keep the sound!

had an AE catless with AR catless downpipes...ran it for 3.5 years, daily driving, got tired of cabin noise at 1500-2500rpms...stock exhaust back on the car, love the car again as it doesn't annoy me in daily traffic, ordered DMH 2.5" cutouts for when i want to have fun and crack them fully open

I have PE with catted AR DP's on my e91, no rasp or drone.
Sounds great all of the time. I'd heard de-catted DP's + PE and sounds too raspy in comparison. |

Ive heard it and it sounds great. A bit of rasp but imho, i like the N54 exhaust with touch of lil rasp.. Nothing crazy in terms of rasp, dont get the wrong idea. I would def go for it.
I run stock mufflers with CP-E DP's, straight pipe divorced.(no resonator or sec. cats) no drone at all and a lil bit of rasp, very lil. But my setup, sounds better then any aftermarket exhaust on the market and it doesnt drone at ALL.
