Update: I just tested the M3 multifunction buttons today for another member and I couldn't get them to trigger an upshift for some reason. I retested the LCI paddles on my current setup and confirmed they work flawlessly. I've lower the price for the buttons as they need to be repaired for upshift to work.

How did you get those lci paddles to work on pre lci if you don't mind me asking, I have the same ones but I could never find anywhere on how to mod them to be compatible, thanks

You have to remove a diode on the paddle circuit board and solder in a jumper wire. Here's a good write up showing what to do. It's not too hard if you are handy with a soldering iron and take your time. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=540684
