Also, as a note since I've been absent from this thread for a bit... please keep the tune bashing and OT discussion to a minimum. To make it easier to sort through, I'll be editing the original post with any relevant info as we progress so that there isnt 12 pages wondering whats new after I post it this page or any subsequent page.

Stay tuned! Info coming soon.
Show us a dyno tonight!

So just how does this affect the flash counter that the dealership/field engineers see? Each DME is actually only good for a specific amount of flashes to be performed.

What is really sad, some people in this thread have never heard of GIAC. Do some of you people live under a rock?

I hate teaser threads. We need the "Can I start a thread?" flow chart around here.

I don't know if/how it applies but, in the Evo world there was a lot of talk about the flash counter and number of times an ECU could be flashed too. It ended up being the ECU could be flashed several thousand times before it potentially became unusable and the reflashes were able to reset the flash counter.

It's so normal on this subforum.... You develop a thick skin of patience when someone says they have something new and there'll be (pics/dynos/sound clips) soon.

That being said, I'm eager to see this too.

The finishing touches are being made on the encryption at the moment... we should have some dyno numbers on Monday or Tuesday morning. Yes... it did take a little bit longer than anticipated, but this thread was created as an informational thread and also to create awareness.

Expect a full writeup, dyno sheets and information on this at the same time as I release all that information.

i dont have much patients for things either, but for a $50k car and adding on a flash $1k (better be alot less then that) i can wait for it to be produced perfectly with some good gains. so take your time, no need to rush. oh and please be prepared to answer questions.

Not everyone's own'ed a VW or Audi before, or even owned a turbo car. Remember, BMW people are new to the FI world.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

GIAC is not just huge in VW and Audi world. They make some fastest tuned Porsche's in the world.

I just find it hard to believe people have never heard of GIAC. They have been around for almost 20 years.
