It was a high 12 mate. The weekend was a shit day for it. I'm sure he had other mods or had tyres. I've been before with a mate, 400+HP 335i with a 2.2 60ft and he did 13.3, if he could have managed a 1.9 then he would have done a 12.9 maybe 12.8. 335i with 380HP does not mean its a 12 sec car mate. A 650HP E92 M3 could only manage a 12.5 with a rubbish 2.5 60ft. On a perfect day I would say my standard M3 could do a 13.0 on that same day a 400HP 335i 12.7. And a few more mph than the M3 An article in a magazine had mapped 335i & 335d doing 0-100 in high 11's. An E46 can run quicker!! Hence why most mapped 335i do mid - low 13,s

I don't think It is mate. The original road tests of press 335i's were running a little more HP than standard LOL.
Maybe this one wasnt

Any review I read of the N54 335i was very consistent 0-60 in 5.4 sec and 100mph in 12.1-12.8 no matter who or in what country they conducted the test.
4.7 sec in a manual N55 is a bit quicker than I thought. They have the 335d quicker to 60mph too but then 100mph taking 14.2secs which is 0.5 down on test here. Gained 0.4 by 60mph and lost 0.9 from 60-100 to end up 0.5sec slower. Just noticed their 335d is 20bhp down on the UK version. |

The 335d they didn't bother. But independent tests show the 335d does low 13's to 100mph. Now the "fuel for thought" article showed that both 335i & D did 0-100mph in 13secs but both remapped to evolves figures of 370-350 did high 11's for both. They also had a press car which did low 12.

Why does 0-100mph in 12 and a bit seconds seem unreasonable to you?
There is quite a few FWD hot hatch backs nailing 100mph with 250-260bhp namely the Mazda 3 MPS and Megane RS in 14 secs, I'm sure someone got the megane into the 13s. I've driven a few MPSs and had a blast against a couple and they aren't that close. They don't have the same power, torque are FWD and only weigh a little less. Cars like the Cayman S with 295bhp gets to 100mph mid 11s as it is just a bit lighter. There is quite a few RWD cars with similar power posting similar times. My mate has a Cayman S and there is nothing between them. |

To be honest I've still to see any facts that show the d is as fast as the I.
No magazine tested review I've read has found that, reading the BMW sites no matter what state of tune standard or remapped the quoted figures by other users always has the 335i quite a few MPH up. |

I love how a mpg thread has now turned into a 0-100 argument...does it really matter if some one does 0-100 1-2 sec faster. Lets all agree 335s/M3 are all quick
Personally I'm too scared to go 5 mph above the national speed limit on our camera ridden roads |

No mate. It's on google but I can't read it on my phone. If you don't believe me then go and look. Also I'm not so much a mag man, I like testing real world and have done with members on here. Mapped for mapped nothing in them mate.
Sometimes I like you mate an other times I just think your a bloody wind up merchant.

Back on topic, the MPG you got is not too hard to do on a run in a 335i (with a light right foot) Re: the boost on the fuel gauge, on a JB4 you can set this to do the same, but it still functions as a normal fuel gauge until the throttle hits 50% then it shows the boost levels, and returns back to a fuel gauge when light throttle imputs return.

I initially had it on 'stealth mode' ie. turns to boost at 50% throttle, but it was annoying as you couldn't monitor boost response on part throttle, which TBH is more useful the WOT max. Now I just leave stealth mode off, but it gets a few comments from passengers like "is your fuel sloshing around making the gauge move"? and "hmmm maybe we should stop for fuel?" |

Crail does seem to be very quick, E46 M3's run 12's there standard LOL Always 4-5mph quicker too. To to the pod and you will run 0.24-0.3 slower and less mph.
In reality there isn't a hope on hell a JB3 car can trap 114mph in the real world with accurate equipment. M6's run 115-117 "real" mph with decent FIA timing gear over the 1/4 Last edited by dxb335d; 08-16-2012 at 05:12 AM.. |

Different days yield different results. So you would have to both several times Crail run faster than Pod as proved my many people on here let alone the rest of the World. Crails is set up every week rather than permanent. They run 400m instead of 402m. Also downhill compared to SP uphill. Get over it mate, Crail is faster. By miles. That fella would never run 114mph at any permanent 1/4mile facility with JB3.

Interesting debate.
I am hoping to run my 335d at kirkbride airfield in september in an event ran by straightliners. Surface is known to be poor as prob only been 8 1/4 events on that airfield. Have ran various cars there over last few years such as my clio v6, mazda mps, alfa gta, megane 225 etc Would like to see low 13's and possibly 107 mph anyone think this is achievable?? With an ecotune and downpipe. |

If its shit and no traction then it will be a high 13, let us know how you get on (60ft as well). This is being realistic.
