You're welcome. Thanks for the entertainment while I wait mine out.

AL is STILL in the port of LA. Here's the latest. You have to search for her label, which is towards the middle and top of the radar map.

The only info I can add is Wagoneer's trucks are always parked out in front of our BMW dealership, unloading new BMWs; nobody else buy Wagoneer. In the case of our Mercedes dealer, it is always another (maybe various) trucking companies, albeit they are always enclosed trucks like Wagoneers. You won't find new MBs or BMWs on those open-air trucks like Toyotas or Mazdas.

She's finally on the move towards PH. She's in the center of this map moving out of the bay.

That's good news. I was starting to wonder if she was really going to arrive in Hueneme today or not. I wonder if they actually unload the car once it arrives or if it just sits until tomorrow morning.

BTW, I read on another board that another ship got in an accident. It was in Brunswick (on the Georgia coast). Apparently, there were no injuries and no reported damage to any cars, but it left a twenty foot gash in the ship. It will most likely slow down delivery of the cars aboard. My point is that our slight delay in Long Beach is seeming pretty minor right now.

Spn - thanks again. Please post one last shot for us when she's finally home.

I think that was the Centaurus Leader that ran aground in Brunswick. See the Cent Leader thread, post #12. She's still stuck in Brunswick and someone just posted that her transit time through the canal will be a week late. Bummer. Not unless, the Aphrodite Leader was damaged, too??

I will try to post another image of AL. Unfortunately, I can't zoom in on the port of Hueneme. That little grouping of yellow arrows north of LA is PH, but I can't zoom in anymore than what we see here.

I dont think AL is damaged since someone took some prtty good pictures of the ship when it was docked at San Diego. it should arrive at PH tonight and probably be at the VPC tomorrow. The priority 1 order will be sent to dealer in a day or two!!

Thanks SPN for the support

An update. These images can be delayed UP TO an hour, so she is probably further than what she shows here.

Fwiw, my new CA called to tell me he was my new CA since my old CA left the dealership.

He also told me he expects the car to be unloaded today, inspected tomorrow and released to the carrier tomorrow or Wednesday - with a probably delivery date of Thursday evening, making it ready for Friday morning pick up. If he is right, it will be 7 weeks order to delivery - that's pretty amazing for a west coast car.

Anyway, the ship is fine, it wasn't damged, it hit SD and left SD on time (well, on time after the schedule revision supposedly due to the storms last week), and I think it's going to hit PH on time as well. I mean, it's already on the way and the trip is like 15 minutes.

I have always had that question when tracking cars, too. I don't know if there is a night shift who unloads cars. I would think that there is, but I don't know. I know with my car, it arrived in port on a Friday afternoon (along with 5000 other cars) and went through customs on Monday morning. Customs is closed on the weekends, but being that my car made it from the ship on Friday afternoon to customs on Monday morning, I think they probably unloaded the ship at night and over that weekend. It is just the customs office that keeps M-F 9-5 hours.

This was posted by a guy on the Ship Bellona (BMW) forum that I was on last summer. It shows the visual distance from PH to the VPC.

It sure is taking its time! It's probably at PH now! I'm going to home depot. By the time I'm back, I hope I get some verification it's at PH!
Thanks spn!

Ohhh......it's so close.

Spn, I hope you are right about them offloading the boat at night. If that is the case, they can start the customs process tommorrow. I suppose US customs had a holiday today anyways, so the delay probably didn't cost us any time.

If you look on the PH schedule, you can see Chiquita banano co and Del Monte both have ships that offload in that port. I can't imagine them leaving produce sitting there (especially bananas) overnight or on weekends/holidays. They may even offload 24/7, except major holidays. It would be great if they would offload the cars tonight and go through customs tomorrow.

By the way, she's off the AIS radar now, so I assume she's in port.

Custom's process _probably_ go to the new cars first, then ED cars, but that's a guess.

i called the 800 number which redirected me to customer service. they told me my car just got to the port of exit in germany and is awaiting a shipping vessel. wtf?!? i was pretty sure my car was on AL and they tell me it's still in germany?

i remember seeing a similar post before? anyone else had this experience? i assume it's just a glitch in the system or something.
