I wonder how much you would put down with stage 2 lpfp and either shotgun hpfp or TBI kit. 600whp?

Rumor says Z4 got beefier fuel lane etc. than 335i, I think people should not do this on their 335i with stock fuel system.

Awesome number btw.

How much variation in ethanol content can a straight e85 tune tolerate? I've noticed that Sheetz e85 pumps now say e51 minimum... could be quite a variation of content at the pump..

It is, I can only imagine how much more fun it will be with beefed up suspension

From what I read the Stage 2 and the Z4 stock LPFP flow the same. The advantage the Z4 has is its fueling lines are like 2-3 times more thicker than all other N54 cars. Steve @ Fuel-It knows more of the specifics.

I think with upgraded turbos and perhaps a TBI kit would get me close to 600 whp on the Z4. Currently Im already pulling off 530-550 whp on cars with upgraded turbos and a Stage 2 LPFP. However not all cars this is possible on, and they may require a TBI or PI earlier.

I'm not that thrilled about going PI unless I go with another stand alone like the Syvecs N54 ECU. Thats big money there but much safer if all the promises turnout to be flawless.

Thanks bro, all demos pretty much have the same config what I was running on the Z4 other than I have configured the maps differently for 6AT, DCT, or 6MT exclusive, boost is limited to 18-19 psi and its speed limited.

hahaha, I thought getting this car was a mistake, but it turned out beneficial, and it turned out to be more appreciative. It was hard to let get away from the DCT.

At the Shell gas station here in Florida it says E85 (Sugarcane ethanol from Brazil). E85 at the pump was tested by couple of guys here to range from E75-E95 depending on the time of the season/year

I haven't gotten a chance yet to grab couple of gallons of Sunoco E85 (Corn ethanol). This isn't a reality at the pump though, and it would pretty much require study how the ethanol changes at your local stations.

Note: To others, this thread is not to encourage you to blindly and bravely go put pump E85 in your tank. This is only possible on the E89 Z4 with stock fueling system. All other N54 cars need an upgraded fueling system and proper tuning.

thats awsome... my 335i HPFP cant handle more then 15 psi and my HPFP starts tanking, even though I have a ES1 fuel line with E85 sensor and a stage 2 LPFP, running just e60 by content.

I will be replacing the HPFP and a N20 MAP sensor, ditching the JB4. and contacting you for a tune.

The ECA is on the wish list, and the KW v3 Inox for EDC to suppress the EDC code.

Dope! Do the E9X front end w/ upgraded bushings, and strut bar. I just did a Bear Mountain run and the car is much more fun around the bends.

This is great to see... but now Im not so sure if I really need to get the TBI kit in order to run 100% E85 on my Z4... I was going to order the whole works with all new fuel lines, ECA, bluetooth analyzer, and TBI... because Steve told me in an email that the Z4 lines are not bigger.
Now I don't know what to do! lol

Their are some pics posted of the fuel lines, I think Lambobimmer posted them when he was doing his turbo install and LPFP upgrade

If you're running or going to be running upgraded turbos you will need that setup to push straight E85

The only way 100% for sure if you will need that fueling setup is to actually try it first to see if you need it with stock turbo. No two cars are the same and no two stations with pump E85 will have the same amount of ethanol content.

I started with E60 first, then pushed it to E70 and then E85. I added the fuel progressively to be on the safe side.

This is very interesting. I can't even run a strong E40 with stock turbos. I have a Fuel-it Stg 2 LPFP and I replaced the HPFP twice with the same results. Many people are telling me that I need the TBI to get past my high pressure dropping too low.

From what I can see, your E89 has the same HPFP, rail, injectors, and everything. The low pressure side has a different feed line and fuel hose. The long fuel line going back to the tank is different as I would expect, but I don't know if the ID is a different size. This makes me wonder if the E90 lines can't keep up with the flow? The low pressure stays good to redline, so I would assume it keeps up.

I was just going by what Steve told me via email. He also said that the Z4 line is actually longer too, because it has to reach to the passenger side.
