Its not about when you get production number. More so about your build week / build date. General rule of thumb is a little over 1 month and 1 week from start of build date to your dealership.

any estimates on when it will actually arrive? I'm in Houston.
My CA just called and gave me a new production number, different from the one prior...she moved me up a whole week to week 18.

Anyway, a week is a week...so, I'm still glad that it happened.

Hey there PlanB looks like we may be on the same ship on the way over. I also have a week 18 build for a 335i conv. with all the toys.

The wait just to get a production number has been agonizing. Waiting 12 to 16 weeks for a car seems crazy but then again ........

I was going to do a ED since we will be in Munich returning from a long planned Med cruise on May 8th. Unfortunately they cannot assure me that it will be ready so we cannot plan. Anyway, taking ED would further delay getting the car HERE in the US and that is where I really want it so hopefully it will be here a few weeks after we get back.

Good luck with your wait too !!

i got a question, once they give you production # when will vin# show up ?does it show up right when they start building it ?

because I just called bmw canada to find my build week, and the guy said it's not in the system yet because it doesn't have a vin #, but that dont make sence because they should know build week before production starts....

I'm pretty sure your VIN will show up a few days after you start production.

On a side note...why do people list their production numbers with three "x" at the end instead of the actual numbers? Are they chronological, meaning that we should all have similar numbers?

Is it May yet? My wife has banned all 'when is my car arriving', 'did I choose the right colour' discussions, so...has April been the slowest month or what, Einstein was correct, time does speed up and slow down
