There is no way to track a NYKLine ship except through www.aislive.com. Sign up for a free trial, which lasts only two weeks. So you have to decide when you want to be able to see your ship.
AISLive only works when the ship is within range of a port which has the equipment to track the vessel, so the entire time it's out to see you guys are SOL. Sorry. If you knew when it was going to be at the Panama Canal +/- 5 days, you could sign up for the service and watch the ship pass through in real time. It took 11 days for my ship to sail from Southampton (last stop before heading to the Panama Canal) to the Panama Canal. If you know what date your ship leaves it's last port in Europe, add 11 days and thats approximately when it will be at the canal. Sign up for your AISLive account 3 or 4 days ahead of that and you should be good. If you time it right, the account will still be valid when your ship approaches it's west coast port and you can watch it arrive and dock... Good luck!

One good thing is that NYK's ships get 2nd priority to get through Panama Canal behind Maersk vessels. So at least you know it won't get stuck at lining up for Panama Canal transit.

Your dealer can tell you what ship you are on, but it is not going to be the Bellona if you live in PA. Bellona is headed for west coast. Yours would be an east coast bound ship.

Sorry...I didn't mean it as mine, my brother is actually getting one and he lives in Long Beach, CA. Mine is aboard the Asian Chorus. I was trying to find out for him if his was aboard the Bellona.

Wow, this ship has been a real bear to track. The most recent thing I've found is this:
http://www.aisliverpool.co.uk/showsh...mmsi=353271000 It's from the 19th, and says she's underway making 19.4 kts. I even called NYK Lines. This ship is NOT one of theirs (in case you were wondering why you're BOL wasn't showing any info). I'm still working on who she actually belongs to. Panamanian registry is all I've been able to determine so far. Anyone else having better luck? |

it's not NYKLine?? hmm.. it shows up as NYK on DCSNet; that's strange; this better not be a rogue ship taking our cars to southamerica to sell in pieces!!

I called their tracking office and the lady said that the Bellona (she verified that the callsign was correct) was not part of their regular line. "It may be a feeder ship, but it's not one of ours."
Anyways...at 19 kts she should be somewhere in this general vicinity: |
