July Production Thread

Ordered on 6/24.
Car started production on 6/28.
800# says it's in the body shop, scheduled for completion on 7/4.
Plenty of WW ships leaving Bremerhavan between 7/7 and 7/13.
2 weeks on the water and it should be at VPC in NY/NJ,
A week later(at most) and it should be at my dealer in Boston area.
I am thinking first week of August delivery.

Much faster than I expected.

for once in my life, i envy you east coast people.

my car is on its way to the port. it was going through quality check as of 6/30 and completely finished with production "stage" yesterday. basically, 2.5 week from putting in order to getting the car to the port. so another 2.5 weeks from port in Germany to my driveway? one can always reach for the stars, right?

haha. realistically i'm looking at 2nd week of august delivery. can't freaking wait.

Yep my car is on the way to the port too!

I called yesterday and it was in the body shop, and today its already on its way!. It was originally scheduled for completion tomorrow, but it finished a day earlier!

It's getting so close!

Hmm so my dealership switched my order and now he said it will be july production rather than august...well called and its still not confirmed yet..i hope so...atleast the number is 371 rather 3722

just got off the 1 800 crack. a rep says it's at the port now. perhaps i've been calling too much? the rep reminded me that they won't know which vessel it'll be on. in fact he said that "we won't be able to give you an update til it arrives in North America." hahaha. well then. just a few more calls tomorrow and early next week to verify that it got on a ship then i'll call my CA to find out which ship it's on.

They told me the same thing I said that's ok I already learned how to find out the boat and how to track it from the net.

yeah. i already found a few ships that im likely to get on.

EDIT: OC says "Awaiting Transport" hmmm so far the OC site has been not too late in its update. maybe a day or two at most.

Mine finished production although I'm not sure exactly what's happening now. I can walk all of 50 feet and find out though, I just haven't yet today.

haha. if i worked at BMW. i'd check at LEAST twice a day. once in the morning and once before going home. oh and whenever i can inbetween. hahah

Haha I know I check at least once a day but I'm not trying to drive people crazy with "where's my car?"

As is mine, it was produced 7/3. It was then handed over to sales (160), handed off to distribution (181), handed over to carrier/load assignment (182) and finally dispatched from AG (190) all yesterday on 7/4.

I work at a BMW Center, it was as easy as asking my favorite CA to get an update for me.

DUDE O MAN, Im deff gunna be on that 1 800 crack for awhile, even though i know my status wont change in a day i still call like 3 times and bug the reps,,i dont think they keep track on the calls.. there still a pretty nice but all give me diff dates..bastards

That's tight. I would say your car should be done with production around July 23rd at best, few days at the port and a few weeks at sea. Good thing your located in NJ. I would say end of August.
