2007 335i Coupe Pricing
Hey guys maybe you all can help me out. I'm trying to get the best pricing for my upcoming purchase of the 335i Coupe through European Delivery.
Here's a list of the options I want: - Monacco Blue Paint - Dakota Black/Saddle Brown Interior - Dark Burl Walnut Trim - Navigation Package - Premium Package - Comfort Access - Steptronic Automatic Transmission I've already recieved a quote from a local dealership and they are quoting me $43,850 for the car as equipped above. In addition to that, they are charging me "Administrative Fees" which come out to $505.50, sales tax which is $2661.33, "Other Fees" which is $52.00, and title fee which is $250.00. The final price of the car comes out to $47,318.83. Does this seem like a fair price? I'm sure I can get the price lowered since I have yet to negotiate anything with this dealer. Please let me know how good of a price I can get. Thanks, Gibran |

Have you build the car online at bmwusa.com to see what the MSRP is? The site also talks to the ED pricing discounts. Look at those things compared to the quote and you can tell pretty quick if you're getting a deal or not.

Model MSRP European Delivery Price Savings
2007 335i Coupe $40,800 $37,945 $2,855 That's the stated discount for ED. So if the MSRP is $48,497 and the savings is $2855, then that's $45,642. Based just on that, if the quote is $43,850 then it sounds like you're getting a deal. It says the discount is up to 7% of retail, $3,394.79 is 7% of the MSRP so based on that the discounted price would be $45,102.21. Those numbers are only approximates of course, but still looks like a deal to me. |

They're charging you $2k over ED invoice for the car. THAT'S A LOT!!
Although I dont know the market in FL, here people are only paying $1k over for their 335 coupes. I would negotiate and get that price down. Regarding the fees, since your tax is 6% (ours is 8.25%), the total fees you should pay for the car is about 8% of the sales price (we pay about 10-11% for tax, license, etc.). However, I dont know the rules and regulations over there so I can only speculate. You should ask the dealer to break down all of it for you. For example- you know that tax is 6%, do your own math on that and compare it to the number the dealer gives you. I dont know what they meant by Admin Fees- maybe they were talking about MACO & Training fees?? You dont have to pay those since you'll be doing ED. $250 for title also seems a little bit high for me so I would double check on that. The $52 for "other fees" is minimal so you can put that aside for now. |

Go to bimmerfest.com and contact Adrian Avila at BMW of S. Atlanta. He's a dealer sponsor on bimmerfest.com and he'll treat you right. Of course, you'll have to travel to Atlanta to pick-up the car, but it's well worth for it for a no aggrevation experience. The last thing that you need is a dealer who's not familiar with EDs.
FYI: Also 35 coupes are pretty much sold out for EDs until late Oct. or Nov. Of course, by now Nov. may be sold out too. You would be getting an 08 though.

The dealer that's helping me out is telling me that the dealer fee of $505 consists of a full tank of gas, cleaning, and inspection. Sounds a bit much to me

That's a bunch of horse sh*t they're feeding you. The delivery center in Munich will fill up your tank. Then when your car gets here the dealer may or may not fill it up again for you. Either way your purchase price includes a full tank of gas. Cleaning & inspecting a car is a bunch of crap. Since you're doing ED the delivery center will detail the car for you. When it gets back here the dealer may or may not detail it again. All of these are NOT things you should be paying for separately. I suggest you go to a different dealer. |

If I purchase a car through ED, can't I basically purchase the car from any dealer in the USA and once the car is shipped it can be sent to Miami, FL? Is this possible? Because I was under the impression that it was...

Yes and no. It can be shipped to a dealer in Miami on a courtesy delivery if your ordering dealer has a good relationship with a S. FL dealer I don't know what's the current courtesy delivery charge though. Otherwise, the car will be shipped to your ordering dealership.

The courtesy delivery charge is 500 paid by the customer to the receiving dealer. Most dealers aren't interested in doing the delivery even though most of the time they will also be the servicing dealer and they will make money on the warranty work.
