FYI, the engine that the E60 was introduced with was the M54, the same engine in the E39/E46. It was not until the E90 came out that they put the N52 in the E60.

Not to mention the 328i's smaller brakes, lesser transmission, and so on. It is a surprise and a bit depressing to see how much the prices have gone up in so few years.

DenverJayhawk - black with Terra + Aluminum = nice combo (not mine, but one I considered and sometimes still think about!)

Thanks, BK. My wife actually wanted aluminum over the wood trim. I only cared about Sport and MT. So when this one came along, it was a perfect fit.

Man you're right. I must have been given an '06 loaner when I had my E46 in the shop in late 2005.

Correct.
The N52 was actually introduced in Europe in the Fall of '04 in the 6 Series. So it was in production even before the E90.

I've got just over 30K miles on mine, new tires too.....it feels a bit faster than when it was new. Anyone know about any performance software updates that might be out there for the E90 330?

I love how people still say that the power difference between a 330 and 328 is not noticeable lol because it definitely is, especially if you have a step. But even manual vs manual while 0-60 is close up to 100 and beyond its a different story over 1 sec different which any one that goes to a track knows thats a lifetime. Just some examples

0-100
328-16.6 330-15.3

Top gear 50-70
328-10.2 330-8.6

Anyway I digress.

My 330 is a 7/05 build only thing I regret is not waiting 2 months for the Comfort access.

Saphire Black on Black leather
ZSP, ZPP, Nav, Logic7 (which isnt standard now), Sirius, OEM alarm.

Mods so far only blacklines and I did an angel eye mod to have them run whenever the car is on.

2006 World Car of Year

Major award winner among Domestic Auto-Mags in '06 including Motor Trend, Automobile, Car & Driver and Road and Track.

Called the best all around car ever driven as a long termer by Les Bidrawn at European Car.

Believe it was the fastest sedan ever tested on the skidpad at the time...

For all these reasons the 330 is special. It also represents a safer if more mundane purchase than the N54 biturbo with that engine being only the second non NA petrol engine the marque has ever offered in the US market.

I'm generally a fan of de-badging but because of all the above facts and the possibility of mistaking the car for the little brother, the 325i, I can't bring myself to removing the badges. I suppose if I were to fit quads I could see myself cleaning it up...

Great cars. Had my E90 since April 2007. Could picture myself rollin for awhile!

How, may I ask, do you do that mod? I hate having to turn them on manually all the time....
