I sure hope not. I won't stand a chance! I have about the worst case of two left feet this side of the Mississippi. I was rejected for both of the following roles:

Ah yes, the old Jedi mind trick. I will have to use it sometime.

One dot and one consonant do make a big difference. If you were talking on the phone, I can see how they could misheard it.
If this was via text, it's a different story
Yes, it was all via text. I was incredulous watching him repeatedly send me screenshots of my previous text msg as proof I agreed to the restocking fee, with added lines like "Dude, do you read your own texts?" and "yeah, customer is always right, isn't he?". I had a moment of self doubt at first because I thought I must've said it somewhere by accident, but when I re-re-read the text in question, I realized he was just a unique case. We kept going in circles and I gave up shortly thereafter.

But all is well. I spoke to the shop owner not long after who seemed like a genuinely decent person. Though his employee alluded to him having seen our texts and agreeing with him, the guy (owner) took my side, asked me not to worry and they will handle it with the manufacturer.

Without mentioning specifics, this was with a well-known vendor who resells for the manufacturer (also extremely well-known). That's about as far as I want to take it to protect the innocent.

Thanks for everyone's input.

No tracking number = no shipment. End of story.

It's not your fault the vendor has cash flow problems by acting like a broker rather than having inventory.

Im going to use that tonight at a bar and I’ll let you know how the public interprets this.

Are you sure the shipper and the manufacturer are really the same entity? This sounds like a dropship to me, and the shipper doesn't want to get stuck with it.

No matter what, I wouldn't do business with them again. They are unscrupulous, and kinda stupid!

It's JVB of advrider! Didn't know you were here. That's the advantage of perusing the platform-agnostic part of bimmerpost (something I don't do much of); we get to "see" folks we would miss in our own little virtual bubbles. Good to hear from ya!

Yeah, they are the same. The vendor did not have the item in inventory and was drop-shipping through the manufacturer's warehouse. In all honesty, I would not have quibbled over a few bucks, but this would've cost me over $700 and that was simply not going to happen.

What does it mean when the wife says:

Can you please turn the A/C up?

I know she wants it colder but I always clarify - does that mean you want it warmer? She says knows and gives the annoyed look (I don't blame her)

"Could you get me my purse?"

Well, sure, I COULD. I mean, just like you I could get up off my fat ass and walk to where YOU left it, pick it up, and bring it back to your lazy ass.

.
.
.

"Oh, you WANT me to go get your purse? I don't recall the word please"

Thank you for this brief bit of fantasy time.

That's an easy one. My general rule for anything related to a/c is to pretend I didn't hear her, including requests to adjust temperatures or questions about why is it so cold.

Yup, very true. Funny how many people I meet again on different forums.

Thanks, and great to be here.

With a woman, no always means no. It is the question she is being asked that you must carefully evaluate.

It’s not so much a verbal question more like what I’m physically trying to do to them

maniz it sounds like you resolved it, but I guarantee they misread it. The first time I read your text I misread it and overlooked the "to" highlighted below which 100% changes the meaning. Simple misunderstanding, nothing more.

"I hope they don't ship it today just to charge the fee".

"I hope they don't ship it today just charge the fee".
