This way, the co-pilot can just bend down and out of the side window to pick up the "White Flag" without landing ....A bit more dignified, I am guessing.

Olde but a good one:

I think the craziest thing though are the B1 bombers. They have (I think it's called) map of the earth software and computers and are designed to fly right along the ground under the radar at full speed.

Fun starts around 1:50
