My old pump was solid cast aluminum same with the thermostat housing. The new pump and thermostat both had a plastic casing.

7/07 335xi ~46,000mi on original water pump and thermo. Does anyone know definitively if this is covered by the BMW Gold Ext Warranty?

Yes it should be, i had mine replaced and I had the platinum ext warranty. I believe the only difference in coverage from Gold to Platinum is that platinum includes electronics.

2008 E92 335I, water pump replaced at 50K.

Thumbs down failed water pump

2009 335xi E90 N54-water pump failed at 54K. Fully covered w/ EXTENDED warranty (purchased CPO w/ 40K)

So far have had HPFP replaced per TSB
All six fuel injectors replaced per TSB along with full valve carbon buildup cleanout.

Have had dealer loaner w/ every incident with $0.00 out of pocket. What's up next to go wrong with this sorry scrap of steel BMTroubleW?

07 E90 335i, replaced water pump + thermostat @ ~80K miles.

Thermostat went out, causing my cooling fan to run at 100%, resulting in engine overheat codes.
