Estimate rear brake work reasonable?
Failed inspection. Estimate from garage I usually take my Mountaineer to. Been dealing with'em for 30 years, but have never taken the BMW to them. E90 has about 70K miles on it. Without my being able to list who makes the parts, can you comment on price of the estimate?
Thank you, Reed. |

Seems very reasonable IMO.

That looks about right. Curious what brand the pads and rotors are.

That's around half of the typical dealaer quote, per these boards. Since you have a helpful mechanic, you should go the next step and get suggestions as to specific brands of pads and rotors for him to get for you. The parts prices vary some, but not a great deal, but the performance and dusting can vary greatly.

I would say that is a fairly high price for parts. TMS offers $400 for all the parts for front and back, since you only need half its $200. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-22...e-package.aspx I would say, buy the package and give him the parts. It may be $50 more if you do it that way, but you have the parts for when you need the front done in the future.

parts are about right, and the labor is not bad either.
if you aren't a diy guy, i would go ahead and get it done by whoever gave you that quote. can you find out if those are OEM parts? |
