Guess What I Found...

Found it on Craigslist from a former e90'er. Apparently it was never used and sitting in his garage. Purchased it for $75. I didn't event bother haggling

Purchased the Spare tire tote for $15.95 from Bimmerzone.com

Where would in go in the car? In the trunk where it can slide around and bang against things?

There are cargo hooks in the trunk near the back seat which I fasten with a bungee cord. Doesn't move at all.

So, what exactly are you posting about? Just that you got it at a very good price? Or is there something unusual about the kit? To me it looks like the ordinary 5-series kit sold on the Net, which we know fits 3-series almost exactly.

Please, dont ever post a thread about something that you buy that is already on the internet. Ever. Ok? Damn, we should just delete this whole forum actually....

OP, Nice find! When non-rft time comes for me, im going that route too!

Huh? Please, don't ask meaningful questions here. Keep you posts to "Woo-Hoo!", "Good Job Man!" comments and virtual high-fives. Damn, we should just replace the "Reply" button with Facebook-style "Like" button...

I'm asking an absolutely neutral question, because I'm also looking for a donut spare. I'm ready to by one from Bimmerzone for their price. But seeing this post I just wanna know if this specific spare is something different, better suited for a E90 car. Or if it's just the same thing for a better price.

Really? Everyone else seemed to get it.

The fact that I purchased a practically new $350 e90 spare tire kit for $75.

I haven't purchased the tension strap for the cargo hooks yet, but i tried joshing it around in the trunk and it feels pretty secure on top of the rubber trunk mat for now.

Silver, I don't understand what you mean, are you asking if it has any rust settling in? The phone pictures are not as clear as viewed in person, but the tire, jack and wrench look practically new.

he's referring to the production year of the tire. should be on the tire somewhere.. a tire thats been sitting unused for too long can become brittle and prone to cracking/failure.. i've heard too long is 7 years? correct me if i'm wrong.

Really? I've never heard of that. I'll have to check.

It is true. Make sure the actual rubber date isn't older than (I would say) 5-6 years.

Dude, where do I find this information? I looked all over both sidewalls and inside the rim. Whle there were multiple locations that listed different numbers, none resembled a date or year.
