Help! Should I trade for this car?
Hey Everyone.
I've been thinking about trading cars and came across this: http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/4000302928.html Its a rebuilt title and was rebuilt by Motorcepts (apparently amazing). The current owner bought it from one of the owners of motorcepts and most of the mods came with the car. What are your thoughts. The guy said the car needs a new thermostat. That's some shitty body work. Front wreck. Line up is crap. Airbag light is on. That will get expensive.
I used to rebuild and sell salvage vehicles. This is a raced car for one. Second a shitty job fixing it. I'd stay away. If they don't fix it right the first time, its never gonna be right again |

Why is the airbag light on? Why was the tittle rebuilt?
How does he know it needs a new thermo? It could be water pump time!

BTW. Looks like front right hit. Looks like frame is bent. Look at the right front wheel. Its pushed back further than the left front.
This is a horrible repair job. |

IMO I would never buy a car with a rebuilt title. Also I stay away from cars in big cities, like NY.

Drive it. Can't hurt. Just take it to a mechanic shop or BMW dealer to get inspected and also agood body shop to get checked up. Price is too high also. Pay less than 12
For me, too many mods to say it hasn't been abused by an armature. Damage repair was done cheaply. Its going to be a nightmare long term. |

look at the shitty debadge job they did! Right side rocker panel doesn't look like it's fitted well. Exhaust looks like shit/misaligned. If that's the level of quality you're getting in the pics they post in the ad... run away.

Oh Lol I meant too many mods means for every mod, there was that much testing. Seems like is been abused. And a bad repair job. Its going to be a never ending story. If i were u, I'd buy something stock and mod it your self.

Also in Feb it had 48k. Now 52k. 4 k miles in 6 months. Looks like it has been sitting for a while. And its summer time. So something is wrong with the car. He is trying to get out of it. Car has a bad vibe

I wouldn't waste my time to even spit on a rebuilt title car. Particularly if I already have a car.
My speculation: The guy knows his car is a POS and wants something better. And frankly, pretty much any car that doesn't have a rebuilt title will be a better one, even if it's only because it'll command a higher trade in value. If you want his mods, offer to buy them, but let him keep that crappy car. Even if yours also is a rebuilt title car, better the Devil you know than the Devil you don't. Or is your car in such horrid shape now that it's literally impossible for anything you pick up in trade could not possibly be a worse car? If guess if the last it true, then sure, trade. All the best and good luck. Good luck.

Do you think your car will endure past 10K miles? If so, keep your car and save your duckets and mod it gradually over time.

This confirms frame damage. The right front was the point of hit. The front right fender is lined up downwards. See the door gap on the front right between the fender and door. That's the weak point on the frame and it folds there. That's why the wheel ais back. Hood don't line up. Headlight is off. Hood gap is big. And skirt is off. Its a done car

This car was previously on e90post when someone was considering buying it. I'm sure if you search around you can find it... As far as for the car itself: I buy/fix/sell damaged cars as a hobby. Sometimes it's fixed right and you won't know the difference.
This is not one of those times. Misaligned body, rice mods, etc. etc. Most likely owned by some kid who was more concerned with spending his money on 335 and m3 mods than keeping up with the maintenance and taking care of the car. But then again, that's just my opinion.

IMO I would stay away from this car. looks like it has been run hard and not taken care of. Your better off saving your time and money and getting a real 335.

There's another recent thread about it. If I remember correctly there was another thread, before this one where a guy was thinking about purchasing the car. He wanted 19k back then if I remember correctly.
