Yeah its pre lci. I did the fog delete myself. On the 335i i think you can get the 335is air ducts, but for my 335d there's nothing out there so i modded the 335is air ducts to fit.

Mines a boy. I know you're right i will prob have no time to do things like this for a few months/years. I may go Santa Pod this month and try and squeeze it in.

Been thinking recently about selling and getting a 2006-8 Range Rover Autobiography 4.2 Supercharged (not sport). MPG will be awful and power will be nothing like my 335d, but i fancy the idea of cruising around in ultimate comfort, and doing some off road courses. Maybe its cos im getting old. Also it will be a hell of a lot easier to get my kid in and out and should give me around £4-5k spare cash...

What do you all think, am i being stupid? I just don't want to end up regretting it as nothing comes close to what i have now.

Two very different cars, your 335d and a Range Rover.

If you need the space and luxury then go for it, nothing comes close to the RR. Although you will need deep pockets as the maintenance for the RR is not cheap.

How much is the RR costing you if you will have around £3-4k cash left? Last time I looked they were around £15k

Sorry not followed the thread as I noticed it was some time ago since your first post. Are you saying you're selling your 335? Price? What's been done since the first post?

Yes i've heard the maintenance will be a lot. I'm hoping to learn some stuff on it like i've done with my 335. I just fancy the idea of going around in ultimate comfort, plus the space will be very useful.

I've seen some high milers at around £8-9k (4.2 supercharged) on autotrader. There's one with LPG. But you're right the maintenance will be a lot more than current, but i'm hoping to get more for my 335, prob not £5k more though, depends on the market price. I could get a seperate run around for during the week

Hey raptor.

Not really sure if im selling tbh, just been thinking about a range recently. Since the first post i've had the 1M bumper done, fitted a front and rear dashcam with iphone control, custom rear swift springs fitted, diff lock, and upgraded upper rear shock mounts. Still have solid subframe bushes and all m3 arms in the shed.

Price wise i'm not really sure but i've spent £9k upgrading this car. So would like to get some extra above the market price for a stock car. Obviously not the full £9k!

I considerd a RRSC when I was looking to get rid of my X5. The 4.2 just didn't feel all that. The interior looks a bit dated imo. The 5.0 facelift is another story. Pre facelifts came with a lot of issues.
Personally if I had that sort of a budget I would look at a 4.8i E70

Also I don't think this was a good engine to have LPG. There were alot of issues relating to engines not liking LPG.

Went to see a 4.2 supercharged range rover today. Lovely interior, surrounded by leather, and drives well. Huge amounts of space in front/rear and also the boot.

Power wise even with 390bhp it was noticeably slower than mine but it does weigh a ton more! Tbh i don't think i'll be driving fast in that car anyway, and it has enough power for daily use. The ride was sublime. Really soft over rough roads, but does sway a bit more than mine around corners though!

Dealer offered me £10k for mine, and would go to £11k im sure. But i think i will try and sell privately for a couple more £k as there's no way i'd part with this for £11k. In no rush so im happy to wait.

Cannot really blame you for wanting something more family friendly. Our SUV/mini monster truck is due to arrive in a few weeks. Truth be told since my daughter was born I've lost alot of interest in just having a fast car, your priorities in life changes with children, which personally I don't think is a bad thing.

Good to hear!

Still not 100% sure on the switch to a range rover. Keep having second thoughts!

I was looking at Range Rover's, Cayenne's and X5's for a while. I'd recommend staying well away from RR's they've got an awful reputation with owners for reliability and consistently come in the top 5 in the UK for expensive maintenance bills.
