E90 Head unit shuts off after 10 seconds.

The other day I started my car and after 10 seconds the head unit shut off completely, no lights or sound. (non-idrive) It kept doing this all day every time I started the vehicles. The next day it worked all day, and then today it started out working fine and when I switched my headlights from automatic to on the radio switched off and wont turn on anymore...What do you think this could be? still have to check the fuses but if one blew wouldn't it just stay off completely? Thanks for your help.

FYI

Read this , The IBS system can shut stuff down when the battery is low.
Its one possibility but not necessarily the only cause.

I'm not sure how old the battery is. That makes sense though, too much load.

Do you have a voltmeter?

Do you have a voltmeter?
Measure the voltage of the battery with the car not running then measure it
with car running . This will give you an idea of where that battery is at and also the battery may have a glass eye that indicates its condition.
