E92 335Xi increasing Tire wall on 18"

I have a 2008 E92 335XI Can I run 225/45 18R Front and 255/45 18R Rear without any issues? OEM recommend 225/40 18R Front and 255/35 18R Rear.

I run 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear and don't have any rubbing. Lowered on bc coilovers and M3 control arms all around.

I assume you meant 255/40/18 rear.

255/45R18 is much too tall. Even though we've had some reports of rubbing, some forum members have gotten away with 255/40R18 rear with 225/45R18 front.

I'd try this approach.

You can't do 225/45/18 and 255/45/18 on an xi. Front and back need the same rolling diameter. Best you can do is what Gary said. 225/45/18 & 255/40/18.

If you go for a tire with a higher sidewall profile like Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3, you can run the stock recommended size and the sidewalls will have more protection and look bigger. I wish my car wasn't parked two blocks away, otherwise I'd run out and take a picture quick. I just purchased Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 in 225/40/18 and 255-35/18 and to me it looks like I have a 45 sidewall on the front and 40 on the back, but they just run tall. So far these tires are amazing and much more forgiving than the stock run flats.
