Hi Everyone,

I bought a set of m3 rims/tires they are 18X8.5J with a 27 offset for all the rims. They came with Continental winter tires 255 40 18 99V. Currently I am running 225 45 18's all around. I tried to do some research about maximum sizes and staggered settings, found a lot of good stuff but unfortunately nothing on the new m3 rims.
I like to run a square setting. Any thoughts on the tire sizes, Can I replace the winters with my 225 45 all around or should I get new tires with thicker walls. Do I need wheel spacers, or fender rolling?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am loosing my mind over this.

all the rims have a 27 offset

The wheel style isn't what you should be researching, rather similar width, ET, and tire size figures instead.

Since you already have the setup in hand, I'd throw them on up front as they are and see what happens. Provide some feedback after so that: 1. we can continue to help you make them fit and 2. those interested in running a similar setup will have a point of reference in the future. That's how it's supposed to work around here

Thanks, just to be clear they are currently setup on winter tires should I just give it a go for a day or two and see how they do? or should I replace it with my old tires which are 225 45 18s?

Yes, test fit for sure with those winter tires. That setup isn't extreme and if anything will help you better size tires moving forward.

The rear works fine but the front rub quite a bit while turning right ! Would spacers fix this problem or should I roll the fender?

Where is it rubbing? On the front of the fender liner? Pics?

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures with the 255's winters. It was rubbing only on the front passenger side while turning right. Then I decided to put my 225 40's I thought it would stretch quite a bit because my old wheels are 18X8 with a 35 offset and the news ones are 18*8.5 with a 27 offset, but I was wrong.

It drives fine now, haven't noticed any rubbing yet. I was thinking to get 255's for the rear to make it look tougher.

if you are Xi make sure your rolling diameter is less than 1% otherwise you will toast your transfer case.

If running a square rim setup no point having staggard tires.

Keep it as it it now.
