@cmyk - Are you happy with that body shop? I am looking to have some work done on my front bumper or possibly have one repainted if I can find a used one. Had a run in with a truckers blow out!

Hey Wookie, just had my ASTs installed. Did you do the camber plates with yours? Replace top mounts?

Nice dude! No, I didn't think I needed the camber plates. And +1 for Trade Secret....they're doing my front bumper in two weeks.

Actually no, unfortunately I am not at all happy with a majority of the work they did

They didn't align my hood or trunk properly, didn't match the paint well at all, left glass and trash in my car, ordered a bunch of incorrect parts, broke my windshield, left out a bunch of interior clips and almost ruined my hood.

Sad, as a lot of their work that I've seen has been great but they severely messed up my car. I will be having either New Concepts or Details LTD fix many of their mistakes as I don't want them touching my car again. It's really unfortunate.

cmyk, I must have missed it but where did you take the car? Want to make sure I avoid them in the future. Feel free to PM if you don't want to disclose publicly. Thanks!

I've posted publicly where the car went for repair so I don't think it's a big secret anymore. I'm not naming them to shame them publicly as I have not yet addressed all of the issues with workmanship with the owner directly (I'll be doing that this week) but I don't see anything wrong with posting the name for the sake of sharing my experience. The shop is Trade Secret. Despite their reputation for quality I had an absolutely horrible experience. Would another shop have done better? No way to know. But they dropped the ball majorly with my car. The issues I listed above just scratch the surface. I have another car there right now, so I will avoid going into all the minute details until after I have that car back and the entire ordeal is behind me. Suffice it to say I am (VERY unfortunately) not able to recommend them.

Cool, I might see you around! I work on Ross Ave. in downtown. Good luck with the plastidip! I plastidipped my window trim and kidney grills and it looks great

when you platidipped your trim, did you pull it off or just mask it? How well did it peel off parts you needed it to come off? How well does it stick to the trim? Did you prep the trim by sanding?

Thanks-

FWIW- I did get the plates with my AST's. If you track your car I would reccomend them. If not, there is not much need.

Just masked it. Didn't feel like going through the trouble of pulling it off and from what I understand, it is nigh impossible to pull off the bottom piece of trim without irrevocably damaging it.

If you tape it correctly, it peels off extremely easily along the gap between trip and body. Sticks perfectly to the trim. It's been on for 6 months now and has been washed probably a dozen times with no peeling or lifting.

Did not prep by sanding because I wanted to be able to go back to the trim if the mood struck. I just washed the car, then used rubbing alcohol to get it very clean. Put about 5 layers of plastidip on.

Looks like a decent DIY

If I were going this route, I'd do something just like this..

Why would hanging a steelers sign help your car? Nice sign though though!
