Tire Bubbling??????DEFECT?
Anyone else see this problem with the Bridgestone Potenza RFT? This tire has 22000 miles on it.. Happened three days ago. A defect?

Nope, not a defect.
Its the way the runflats work. You hit something. The tire will need to be replaced. Hope you have tire insurance, or a suitcase full of money. |

Most bubbles are caused from impact damage and aren't a manufacturing defect.

I had one around 13k miles and I went on the Bridgestone website and submitted a complaint to corporate. About 1 week later I got a response Email which informed me to take the car/tire to my closest authorized reseller which they also provided and to have them look at my tire. It informed me once at the tire shop to have the rep call a gentlemen (barry I believe) who was the east coast regional director for Bridgestone.
He called and explained to Barry about the bubble, and Barry asked him to inspect the rim for damages. The rim was not damaged or scraped where the bubble was, therefore Bridgestone sent me a brand new OEM RFT (189s) and they even took the expenses for mounting/balancing!! |
