JB3 1.4 beta update. Stronger lagfix, bogfix, and more!
Quick update for everyone on the JB3 1.4 maps. I've been testing R8.3 for the past few days as I have a 6MT, and I must say this is really getting very good. BMS will be posting it tomorrow or the day after in the usual spot.
Here is a partial list of improvements from 1.3. 1) Dramatically improved lag reduction at all throttle positions 2) Smoother part throttle operation, particularly for manual cars 3) More top end 4) Revised barometric targeting and logic for improved performance above 3000' 5) And for you manual guys, bogfix 1.0, eliminating the nasty delay during fast shifts which is something I have been working on closely with BMS for the last little while. Here is a quick log from last week on R8.1 showing the bogfix in action. Without bogfix, boost jumps over target when letting off the gas, resulting in major throttle closure while the ECU sorts it out. With bogfix, boost jumps quickly below target ready to rock the next gear as soon as you mash the pedal back down. With the latest R8.3 beta BMS has tuned the JB3 to hold more boost through the shift as well, really rocketing you in to the next gear. All in all fun stuff for us manual drivers. Will update this thread with additional logs as time/wife permits! . |

Awesome results Mike, thanks for your efforts! BMS clearly shows that this stuff is very possible without any CANbus integration.

Bogfix is meant for manual transmissions, with your automatic you'll have the gas pedal down while shifting so won't trigger it. But you'll still enjoy stronger shifts with 1.4!
For manuals Bogfix also holds quite a bit of boost through the shift, much more so than any previous JB3 version. It's a very noticeable improvement. Mike |

I thought that 1.4 Rev6 was ready for release as it is a big improvement over 1.3 but Terry has made great strides with the latest revision.
I have been testing Rev8.3 for a few days now and I must say that it is vastly improved (even over Rev6 which I thought was great). 1) Stronger Lagfix down low 2) More torque in the middle 3) Better top end 4) Better 4K transition (Cam change) and most importantly... 4) Lagfix is a LOT smoother in low, mid and general partial throttle for 6MT (this is one of the biggest improvements over previous versions including Rev6). This is great for daily driving as it will vastly improve response. 5) Bogfix and boost at the shift for 6MT. One of the best improvements for racing but also makes for better shifting during normal driving. I feel like I know how to drive stick again. Great job Terry!!! |

Everytime I am inches from switching tunes an update comes out that satisfies my needs, kudos to BMS for always making the tunes better!
