325d ???

Does anyone know if there is a diesel planned in europe between the 320d (4 cyl. 163 hp) and the 330d (6 cyl. 231 hp)?

The gap between those 2 is quite huge (in price and performance), so I would appreciate a step between.

Maybe a smaller sixpack?

So if there is hope, please

Greetings from Germany

I was wondering the same thing, but with the E46 the same situation occured. But they didn't put the engine from the 525d in the E46, so I don't think they will do it now.. I didn't read/heard rumours that the E90 325d is coming, schade..

Thomas, I see from your signature you chipped your 320d. How is the ride? I am always alienated about the roughness of 4 cyl diesel. We have a VW 2.0 TDI (140 hp) in the company and its rough and loud. My dad has a Model 2006 530d and its an unbelievably smooth powerhouse.

But 198 hp hits quite the middle between 320d and 330d. Thats what I want.

But since my e90 is going to be a company car no retune will be allowed.

So please BMW, fill the gap

I've owned two Passat 1.9tdi's, one 110 hp and one 115 hp and those were indeed rough and had a clear diesel-noise.
The E46 320d I had was so much better and the E90 is even more quiet. It isn't as smooth as the 6 in-line diesel, but still very sophisticated even by full acceleration it doesn't sound rough.
The chip is fantastic, the difference in power is substantial and worth every penny!

Good luck with your choice!

Thanks for your report, Thomas.

Makes me even more jealous that I am not allowed to retune...

Enjoy your baby

Thanks
