Wastegate rattle fix (in GVA)?

Has anyone tried to get this done in the GVA?
If so who did you use?

I took the car to one of my mechanics and we fixed the rattle.
I have a perma smile now when I drive with the windows down.
The throttle response is also better I can tell.

If you have the rattle while crusing and letting go of the gas pedal, do this fix.
Its awesome.

If you're still under warranty you may be able to get the turbos replaced. I took mine in for the same reason and my SA said there was a boost leak and replaced both turbos. The rattling sound is now gone

My car is actually at Parkview right now (2007 335xi) getting the turbos and entire exhaust replaced b/c of this. I'm no mechanic and I haven't spoken in detail to the SA but I think both are to fix the wastegate rattle. Best news is that its all covered under warranty. Even got a 323 loaner for the week. What a bunch of crap a base 323 is compared to a fully loaded 335xi.

Why doesn't BMW lend out top notch loaners to get you to test drive and see what your missing. Instead, the base models make me want to puke and don't incent me at all to consider any low end (atleast the 323).

Did you guys just go to your SA and complain about the rattling to get these all replaced under warranty?

Well I got the engine malfunction light, then took it into Brian Jessel, and they diagnosed it to be the wastegates. Then they just told me they're going to replace both turbos under warranty. Didn't have to complain or anything.

I tried to - didn't work. You need to be able to really reproduce the rattling sound, or get an engine malfunction light like j3welz did. Otherwise, the SA will most likely say it's normal and no need to be fixed. The dealer has to send in the old parts to BMW Canada who will verify that the part is indeed damaged in order for the dealer to get reimbursed for the warranty.

Hopefully someone can find a local indy shop in GVA and fix it like Mr. 5 did in his thread.
