HID's Without Projectors

Hey guys. I am thinking about getting HID's without projectors. Whats the difference if I just stick them in my Halogen housing, or get projectors.

Sooo... I'll just piss people off and see less of the road for badass colors...Umm. Unless there is a cheap Projector kit out there, I might do this...

I'm kind of with you on that. My e90 didn't come with angel eyes and I want to change them up a little bit but I'm starting to question how good of an idea HID's are...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I got the impression that he can't justify paying a lot just so he doesn't blind people and have lower visibility.

HIDs in a non-projector housing is a horrible idea. It's not an issue of pissing people off, it's a safety issue - to yourself and others.

Only one that I know of is: http://www.bavarianx.com/DEPO_BMW_Pr...led.ae.pro.htm

But I have no experience or info regarding them. You will have to contact the vendor if the housings are good enough for HID usage (projection != HID, most aftermarket "projectors" won't produce the same clean cutoff that you'll find on OEM projectors, but it should theoretically give you the cutoff you need to prevent blinding people).

I've heard of those ones. But I hear depo stopped making v1 and is going to roll out v2 to fix some problems... Seems like the only option for HIDs though...

Buying a high quality kit will help provide even light output with virtually no glare

Barvian x rips you off. Jevisw had better prices, but they stopped selling Depo V1s and they are waiting to get V2s.

Dropping HIDs in halogen housings is illegal and will blind other drivers. Real douche move.

aside from all the glare comments, i think HID's in non-projector headlights just look dumb. looks like there are two blue flashlights stuck on to the front of the car.
