Thumbs up Akebono Euro Ceramic brakes

I recently had the Akebono Euro Ceramic brakes installed and can say the brake dust is like night and day, the braking is good, can't complain, very satisfied and can recommend them for everyday driving.

Thumbs up

Here are a couple of photos of my wheel after 12 days of not washing the rims, as you can see no black brake dust
Hopefully this will help you out, again I'm completely satisfied with my brake pad change.

Sold. I've been reading and it seems the Akebono's are the best balance for stopping vs dust. I'm going to order a set for F&R this weekend. So when I finish painting my rotors I'll slap them in. I'd like to check my rotor specs... but I can't find that info.

Any change in braking performance or noise compared to stock pads?

Ebay my friend. $142.22 to the door for F&R set.

Edit: I almost got burned. Ebay is full of EUR918A's! My car does not take the A! Went to place for brakes.com $158.10 to the door for front and rear Euro Akebono's. I wonder if the new BMW OEM pads are better on dust than say my original '07 pads.

I would have to say it's about the same, but I don't drive my car hard.

Have installed these on my cars and friends before. Nice pad takes 3-400 miles to bed them in however so be careful until that happens.
I went with Cool Carbons (335) which is a ceramic and brass brake pad designed for track and street. I wanted a better bite than the Ak's give with low dust which CC's provide. Price was only 50 bucks more than a set of Ak's.
Overall if price is a consideration and you want to buy American hard to beat them (Ak's) since they are manufactured in ILL...

I had Akebono cermaics on my Accord and they were great. Worked fine, low dust. See how it goes on the 335.

I bought 2 sets of Akebono at TR. I installed the read set last year and I am very pleased.

Unfortunately for my 2007 323i, it has 312mm and I ordered for a 2007 328i (they are 300mm in 2007, 312mm since 2008). Is EUR918A the right ones to get for my 312mm set-up (OEM pads 34116780711)? Not available from TR this time.

So I am left with new-in-box, not even opened set of front set of EUR1061 Akebono for 2006-2007 325/328i. If anybody is interested for 30$+transport, PM me. I did the same error for my Zimmerman rotors but it was recent and supplier took them back.

What are my other options for a LOW-DUST pads?

Ok, I checked the OEM part number this time I bought a set of Akebono EUR918A with Pilenga rotors. No idea if Pilenga have good reputation or not.

See that damn A suffix threw me off too. I almost bought a set on Ebay until I figured out my car takes 918's. Not 918A's.

I just installed the Akebono brake pads on my wife's 2008 Lancer GTS and they work better than stock with very little brake dust. I also installed Stoptech pads on my E91, good performance but more brake dust than the Akebonos.

^good to hear. Like I said, I had them on my Accord and I drove it hard, they worked great and had literally zero dust. What I noticed what it was this very light colored powder that you couldn't even see until you swiped with your finger a few weeks later.

Have them over a year, Love them. Minimal to no dust and great feel and braking. I hate brake dust black wheels!
