Alright, here's the deal:
The regular price for an AA Tune is $399. If we get 10 people for a group buy, they are going to give us a 15% discount, so each person would pay roughly $340. The process of getting the car tuned is as follows: 1. MaxRPM downloads ECU Data 2. MaxRPM sends data to Active Autowerke 3. Active Autowerke crunches the numbers and sends a tuned program for your specific ECU back to MaxRPM 4. MaxRPM uploads tune into your ECU The process usually takes about 2-3 hours depending on how fast AA can send the file back. With that said, if we are all doing it in a day, MaxRPM will have an AA guy on remote standby to program our cars so that the whole process will be faster. Even so, we will probably be in Bremerton all day. If I understand correctly, at the day of our choosing, MaxRPM will just establish a special venue/event thing for us, and they will even provide us with a luncheon. And for those who can only make it on a Sunday, rest assured, MaxRPM will open for us even though it is outside of their hours of operation Anyway, let's get 10 people on this thing and proceed with the group buy. When we have 10, MaxRPM be needing the following from each individual to start: 1. Full name 2. Year and model of your car 3. Engine type (you can go to realoem and type in the last 7 digits of your VIN to find out your engine type. I think most of us should be either N52 or N52N) If you are comfortable with me handling your info, you all welcome to send your info to my email anthoj@gmail.com. I can then compile the list and send it to them. Otherwise, you are welcome to contact them directly. I got a very positive impression after talking to them for about 10-15 minutes, so I'm now really excited about this group buy. Anyone have any questions? |

Sounds great but does it have to be a certain day?
Can't we just do the group buy and then make an appointment for the service within a certain time frame? Going all at once seems like a lot of wait. I just want to take the ferry, go in for the tune, get out and take the ferry back. Also, are there more discounts if we get more ppl?

One more thing... looking at the AA site, it seems that 325 and 330 tune is priced at $399 while 328 is at $499. I'm not sure why there would be a difference but their website has two separate pricing, so for those who has 328s, you are likely to have to pay $100 extra or $425 after the discount. Also, for those who are too lazy to check their site, here is the list of Key Features of the tune:
Oh I almost forgot, they will also give us a discount on Dyno run if we all do it on top of the tune. $90 instead of $150 for 3 runs. |
