Lewis Hamilton / Tony Stewart Advert

Promo I saw on Scarbs for the F1 / Nascar car swap stunt.

Stewart:

Hamilton:

Stewart only called out turns for one picture, the rest he just said the general tracks.

They are swapping cars at Watkins Glen, June 14th.

Should be fun to watch. JP Montoya and Jeff Gordon did it a while back.

Did you need him to say front straight at indy? i'm pretty sure he knew where on the track it was and the picture of the glen was of the whole track.

I was just pointing out the obvious. I don't need him to say anything.

He will be fine. Stewart has good car control from his dirt and irl days.

Question is, will he acutally fit into the f1 car?

I was just telling someone about the original one the other day. Glad they're doing it again.

Was the sound at the end of the stopwatch during Lewis' ad supposed to sound like an F1 car? It sounded nothing like it - more like a broken r/c car.

I drove to this event yesterday and I'll post some of the fly-bys they did, as soon as I can upload them.

I was there as well. Lucked out and got Vip passes from my friend who works there. Since the infield was closed to the public we could go anywhere. Walked up to the pit wall. Watched from the grandstands over pit row. Just wish we could have had better weather. What they didn't show on the speed channel show was them putting the side bolsters and jumper seat into Tony Stewarts car so Hamilton would be held in the seat. Lol. My friend told me that they were all nervous that Stewart wasnt going to fit in the f1 car.

Do you believe for a second both drivers didn't 'test fit' the cars first, and practiced before? I don't. All part of 'TV drama'. And that's why the had what they needed there. And drivers seemed to get the hang of it right away .

Agreed.....it would be a huge failure by the two genre's to create more separation instead of building mutual respect to further garner international fans.

I believe that's what this event really facilitated....more fan base and to get F1 back in action in the USA.

Still....a joy to observe !!

I didn't catch the time difference from the 2 cars....anyone else ? I can't imagine the NASCAR Impala trumping the F1 with all its aero.
