http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921644569397 I've seen some Sony's in the S-series that use the i5 (nice overall performance) cpu and screen size is 13.3" for 1k and under, nice small size and weight. They're running a sale now on sony.com for these. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921644761506 There's also a new range of S-series that has the i7 cpus, but those are around $1500 with most bells/whistles. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921644768015 i3's are kinda pokey slow - they get the job done, but you'll be waiting a bit. not as slow as an atom cpu. i7's use more and give you more power - but it really depends on what you use ur laptop for. I'm partial to Dell's and Sony's. I would also look at Asus and Lenovo. Hope this helps bro.

This brand new laptop from SAMSUNG is rather nice. Has Macbook AIR size (super thin and light) with the latest core i5 sandy bridge processor, solid state hard drive, fast boot and sleep resume, back lit keyboard, and great battery life...pretty much everything you'd want in a laptop. Its 13" and $1599 but there is also an 11" model that is a few hundred cheaper.
