South East London car wash recommendations
Did a quick search of the site but nothing really came up.
I know the normal answer from car enthusiasts here is do it yourself, but I don't really have the facilities where I live to make this possible, plus when it's near sub zero temperatures outside I'd rather pay someone else to do it for me. Here's the issue though, I don't want to take it to one of the £5 jobbies, does anyone know of anywhere that will do a decent job (ie. not scratch up all the paint work) for a reasonable price around South East London? I'm prepared to pay a bit extra to get a good job, although I'd rather not be paying detailing prices for a weekly/fortnightly wash |

Fair enough if it's only a tenner, but like I said, I'd be prepared to pay a bit more to try and avoid things such as scratches on the car through mits not being treated properly and grit build up etc. I dunno, perhaps what I am looking for does not exist and it's either go for a cheapo job and get what you pay for, or go for a detailing place and get the same. I was just hoping there might be some middle ground for those who want a regular wash service but would pay a little more. DMH, I'm based in Forest Hill. |

hmmm...probably, the surrey quays shopping centre one...used them once,....paid a £10.....not much difference between the eastern European guys that charge a fiver....in deptford...
please note that's just for a quick wash....to make the car look good... but not as good as a proper detailing job! obviously... after the wash, i normally drive it back home and wax my baby.... |

As for off-topic, it's definitely car related, therefore on topic... trying a bit hard to catch someone out I think |

I take my car to the place in Tower Hill which happens to be right next to where I live. Took my E46 there for 5 years and now my E93.
I used the Bromley Car Wash next to Bromley North station, they used to do a pretty decent job too but annoyingly they would change the playlist on my stereo to Tupac and leave the volume pretty loud when I picked it up later in the day!

Well, it's not a 'particularly good' job but it is acceptable. Nobody is ever going to wash my car as well as I would wash it myself, but I don't have anywhere to wash it.
The place I go to is here: http://goo.gl/maps/KgUEe It happens to be ridiculously local in that it's less than 500m from the entrance to my car park, but I've seen all sorts of nice cars in there, and taxis and minicabs use them regularly. My friend says these guys do a 'particularly good' job: http://goo.gl/maps/Oqgd4 But bear in mind that he uses bits of cardboard he finds on the street to wipe off bird poo from his car and then wonders why it got scratched, whereas I know what swirl marks are and why you'd want to clay or machine polish it. Neither of these guys are going to clay or machine polish your car for the £10 they charge (in and out).
