PCV System on N55 (may be reason for reduced carbon buildup)

Hey all,

I have been curious about the N55 vs. N54 in terms of the PCV system since some folks have claimed the N55 does not suffer (as badly?) from the carbon buildup issue on the intake valves. I found the attached. It looks like BMW has effectively incorporated an oil catch can into the cylinder head cover itself! This could very well be a reason for the reduction in blowby oil entering the intake tract. In addition, it looks like N55's get a blow-by gas heater system that the N54 does not appear to have.

I would still love to get a photo of the intake ports on an N55 with 50k or so on it but I feel a little more comfortable that an walnut blast may be overkill; at least until later.
