The wait is over....LCI AW E92 335d!
Hi Everyone,

I am in the most unbearable position at the moment of having a 3.0 twin turbo diesel engine under the bonnet and not being able to use it as it has to be 'run in'! So far though she's driving like an absolute beaut! Although 29.1mpg this morning driving slowly was a worry. Hope she gets better after a few hundred miles. Will post a full review after coming back from a trip to the K-Show, Dusseldorf Germany. |

Has to be "run-in"? What is it, a 1970's Vauxhall Viva? Running-in is a thing of the past. Drive 'em mean and keep 'em keen!
Lovely car.

Nice. I wouldn't worry about running in, just dont cane it. Keep it below about 2500 RPM for 10 mins to allow it to warm up, then below 4000 RPM for the first thousand miles or so. You will still be going very quickly.
Noticed your car had Pirelli P Zero's. Were they dealer fitted or was it OE ? Thanks. |

Great choice of car. One of the best!
I hammered mine from day dot. Never posed one problem. Proper reliable car really. The amount of spanking I gave mine!

Woof! I take it you drove a 335d before you bought the car? If not then you're going to get a shock when you decide to floor it! If not then the knowledge of what is waiting for you must be pretty tough to deal with!
Lovely car, enjoy!

Stunning car, good spec too!
When my mum got her 1 series Diesel, after 1,000 miles you could definately tell the engine had free'd off and didnt feel as tight, I have no idea if BMW run their engines in from new or not, if your worried best people to ask would be BMW rather than "give it death from day 1" or "drive like a nun" Personally if it was me, i'd run it for 1,000 miles off boost and lowish revs, i've saw fresh engines wear pistons from being hammered, shells arent a prob it's just the bores/pistons and rings that need to wear in properly. Whenever I heard someone say "just give it death from day 1!" I ask if they can afford to rebuild it again.....usual answer is NO. but seeing as you have warranty i'll ask.....do you want the hassle? |

All that money spent and not even a few quid extra spent on a set of carpet mats .... the floor will end up horrible with all the wet winter weather !! If I didn't have mats in my cars I think i would have to remove my shoes before getting in !!

Hey TM, thanks for the comment, as always just visiting. We buy and sell all used plastics machinery so its a good place to make new contacts within the industry. Whats your reason for going?
