Can you check error codes without a computer?
First I'll explain why. My car goes into limp mode (yellow engine symbol) above 3,000 RPM and I don't know what causes it. The soonest appointment I could get with BMW is next year.
So...is there a way to check what codes you are throwing without a computer? I don't have I-Drive btw.

Mine did that the other day briefly when I went to lunch. I pushed the BC stalk on the left side in and held it there until the CC-ID 29 code showed up. I then turned the car off and then back on again and haven't seen it since. Says it could be fuel pump or something to do with wastegates. If it happens again, I'm taking it in pronto.

Thanks for responding. I tried that once before, but no joy. I could've just not held it long enough though. I will try again when it goes back into limp mode.
